I replaced the circuit board but that did not solve the problem. They are still running.

Two possibilities that I can think of without knowing the exact make and model of the vehicle:
First its possible your wiper relay is stuck(bad) to test this out without having to spend any money, find the wiper relay (usually in the engine compartment fuse box) and swap it out with another relay known to be good (horn relay is my typical go to) if you switch the relays and the wipers turn on and off properly, you've got your answer, get a new relay and you'll be good (not a good idea to put the possibly bad one where you borrowed the other relay from (meaning dont stick the wiper relay in place of the horn relay or your horn may sound and not shut off)

possibility 2: you could have a bad wiper switch.

There is also a chance you could have a short in the wiring for the wiper motor that is bypassing the switch and or relay, sending constant power to the motor with no way of stopping it. If my first two suggestions don't work, you may want to have a professional take a look, unless you are comfortable trouble shooting auto electrical systems

Kind of need to know the MAKE, MODEL and year to get very close, ...but most of the time wipers not shutting off is an issue within the motor itself. The intermittent circuit uses the same as off circuit, so eventually it fails to make unit shut off.

Intermediate wipers on 1998 GMC Jimmy won't turn off. Any ideas?

On your windshield wiper motor were the elctrical connector plugs in there is a black plate with 3 torx screws, remove these screws and unplug the electrical connector and pull out the circuit board looking thing. this is your wiper module replace it. this is a very common problem with GM vehicles.

After turn on windshield wipers, they will not

There is two place that you can check which would cause this problem. (1) the switch it self and the other is the (2) circuit board on the wiper motor. It's common for the solder on the circuit board where the wire harness clips on the wiper motor to crack and needs to be re soldered. You can buy the replacement at Auto Zone or you can re solder it your self to safe you the $15.00 for the board. If you give it a light tap and the wipers stop, then it's the circuit board. If it keeps working, then it's the switch on the steering column and you can get that at Auto Zone also and they will have the step by step instructions for you to get the hob done with common tools. Good luck and keep me posted.

Wipers keep running after switch is turned off

There should be a wiper control board attached to the wiper motor (under the hood). I just had to replace the same part on my jimmy because the wipers wouldn't stop. Anyway, it should be three or four screws that holds a black cover on. Inside, you'll find the circuit board. Pull it straight out and replace it. (mine cost me about $30)

I have replaced wiper motor 4 times last three years, wipers come on by them self run minute or 2 shut off, and it seems to start after I use touchless car wash. After I replace motor wipers work fine for...

This is really an easy fix. The wiper motor assembly is on the firewall, just right of center. The wiring can be unplugged before the circuit board is removed, or afterward. I found it easier to unplug it after the circuit board was removed. There is a flat cover that is held on with three torx screws (T20). Remove those screws and remove the cover.
The circuit board will now be visible. Remove the circuit board by grasping the wiring connecter and gently pulling it towards the front of the vehicle. When the circuit board has fallen free, unplug it from the wiring harness if you haven't already done so.
The solder joints that connect the wiring socket to the board go bad on the board.  Just resoldered those and re-installed the circuit board.

Good luck and hope this helps. keep me posted, be glad to help.

Wipers won't turn off

The circuit board needs to be replaced or fixed. There was a RECALL about a year ago for this problem and your car may still be covered, so get the the dealer and they should repair it free of charge as as it's with in the grace period of the recall. If it's not covered you can get a new one at Auto Zone and give you the step by step instructions to doing the job your self. 90 percent of the time it's the circuit board needs to be re soldered where the wire harness connect's to the circuit board. If you have a solder gun and solder which then you'l know how to solder, you can fix this in 30 min. Good luck and keep me posted. be glad to help.

Intermittent windshield wipers

It sounds like the circuit board to the wiper module is cracked or has bad connection. There was a recall a few years back on certain GM model for this. I know you can get one at Auto Zone and they can give you the step by step instruction to replacing it.
Most of the time, the problem is the connection at the solder joint. Its a easy fix if you have a soldering gun and solder, just solder the break in the board or replace it.
Good luck and hope this helps.
