Dirty throttle body and idle air control motor(IAC). Check your air filter also.

90 F-150 V8 302 has an idle problem after running 10-15 minutes. While warming up it runs at 1100 RPMs But Then when the engine is warmed up, it drops to 500 RPM then quits.Whats causing the problem?

Could be a number of things causing this. You should have an OBD1 port to pull some codes to narrow it down a little.

In my experience, a wild guess would be a throttle position sensor, an idle air control valve going out or even as simple as a vacuum leak. Those years had vacuum hoses that become very brittle over time.

Is your fluid level low? Does it have a burnt smell - clutches burnt. Your trns filter may need changing and the oil replaced.

Its because that the engine is very cold, try to worm it up more time before you start driving.
