If you DIY, I recommend you invest in a Repair manual at your favorite auto parts store. Or try filepeep.com if they have it, or try manualslib.com

Check the wire at the inertia switch with a test light,If there is not voltage check fuse #23 a 20amp fuse in the battery junction box located in the left rear of the engine compartment. If there is power at the inertia switch this is the last step before the fuel pump so suspect a bad pump or broken wire:)

It is an inertia switch, meaning that it works when there is a sudden change in inertia. The switch is closed by default and opens in an accident or rollover. You can easily remove this safety feature from your system by simply unhooking the connector and jumping across the 2 terminals with a piece of wire. But I strongly advise against this. This is a $50 dealer part that is easily replaced if it is bad. It is a great safety feature that may save your life.

Who cares if it is a safety system? my 05 won't even make it out of the driveway without the thing going off and killing my truck. All because I hit a pothole. If you know how, please tell us. I took it into the shop and the mechanic got 2 new switches from Ford and neither one fit. So either I am going to have spend another $1000 dollars because you have a moral stick up your you know what, or you could help us out.
