Question about Cars & Trucks

Looking for name of the part surrounding 'Easy Fuel no cap' part.

Question about this, i have a 2010 explorer and i too have the Easy Fuel 'No Cap' setup, not a fan of it but i can live with it. anyways.. the plastic/rubber part that sits around the easy fuel no cap part where you insert the nozzle, what is it called? is there a replacement part, the rubber tore and is loose & would like to see if I can avoid having to go to the dealer....

Unless you can find one in a salvage yard or you can try talking to a NAPA store. At the store, you can ask the counter man to take a look at it to see if he has any options for replacing it. I say NAPA because their people are better versed at what they do.

An error code of 0457 came up. any idea what that is?

P0457 FORD - EVAP Control System Leak Detected (Fuel Filler Cap Loose/Off)
EVAP control system has a very large leak such as fuel filler cap fell off, EVAP control system does not operate properly.

Vehicles that meet enhanced evaporative requirements utilize a vacuum-based evaporative system integrity check. The evap system integrity check uses a Fuel Tank Pressure Transducer (FTPT), a Canister Vent Solenoid (CVS) and Fuel Level Input (FLI) along with the Vapor Management Valve (VMV) or Electric Vapor Management Valve (EVMV) to find 0.040" diameter or larger evap system leaks. Federal vehicles can utilize a 0.040" leak check rather than the 0.020" leak check required for California vehicles (click over pic for zoom).

2003 ford explorer gas cap light stays on. Got new cap already

This means you have a small hole in the closed system. You need to go to a shop that has a "smoke" machine and that is how they find the hole.

The gas cap alert means the vehicle thinks the cap is missing because it is drawing air from a leaking hose. This does not mean you are leaking fuel, it means the vapors are escaping from the fuel system.

The fuel cap will not come off of our 2005 ford explorer sport.

Could be damaged from an attempted gas theft,,,or the cap may have been run over and damaged.
try using another gas cap from a friends car,,simillar cap though.
