I was hit on the left side of my ford free star a the bumper cracked ever since then my van want shift past 2 after 40 mph it reives up paper malfunction light on and engein light on

You must verify exact contact with your vehicle was it also hit in the fender and wheel ? y/n how bad of a hit the transmission can be knock out of alignment go to auto zone and ask for a free code scan to find out what codes are set and when you post back make sure your spelling and problems are specific and correct so we can know really what your talking about

    Yes it was hit by fender but not bad just bent in a little took it to auto zone for a diagnostic test it reed sylinoid A B and clutch circuit malfunction

    O.K. Eric now I will explain to you that any impact on these cars where the wheels may be involved and yours was even though you say it you can count on wheel/drive axle contact being made and this constitutes a forced application of braking on one side /the hit side while the other side rolled free & this as explained forced braking and also possible slamming/pushing the drive axle inward will/& has caused this problem and hopefully when you drop the pan & change the solenoids you'll be home free but you must look at the mounting for the transaxle at the bolts to see if there are scrape marks from the engine/trans moving from the hit even the smallest hit will usually move something or bend something knocking the alignment of the drive train out so look for where the mounting points are fresh exposed metal with the scrape marks or a bent mount hopefully you'll be O.K. but if there is evidence of this and you don't reset it back to where it was the same thing will happen again because there is now more resistance/pressure on one side then the other I hope that you are in the clear here but if not you must either buy an engine crane harbor freight has good ones for $200.00 and disconnect everything and move the whole power plant back to where it was or go to a shop and pay around $250-$300 for them to do it me personally fi I was planning to work on my vehicle myself and had the space for it I would buy the crane and do it myself the$$$ spent goes to improving your tool situation/mechanic ability versus just paying out$$$ and thats it good luck

Hello.
This a repair for a transmission shop. Sounds like the pumps are bad inside the transmission. Thats the worst option I have.
It also can be a poor shift linkage adjustment. And the last solution can be the speed module that tell the transmission when to shift.

check tranny fluid. if tranny fluid checks good then buy a bottle of "lucas transmission additive". this is the best on market. you can buy at atuozone, oreillys or napa. the transmission fluid can only be checked while engine is warm and running in park. another stupid question. when you back up does the car make a funny squeaking nosie? if so then your u-joints are the culprit.

Most likely cause is the speed sensor. If it is not working the transmission does not know when to shift.

Check you steering and duspension system. Check ball joints and steering linkages. With the vehicle in the floor have someone move the steering wheel side to side. Not whole turns just side to side movement while you look at the steering linkage to identify any loose parts. Then raise the vehicle and check your ball joints by grabbing top and bottom of the tires and shaking them.

Removal
1. Remove the radiator grille.
2. Remove the left-hand front wheel.
3. Detach the fender splash shield from the bumper cover and fender (both sides).
4. Remove the air cleaner intake pipe retaining clip.
5. Detach the air cleaner intake pipe from the air cleaner housing.

1 Rotate the pipe clockwise.

2 Detach the pipe.
6. Detach the bumper cover from the fender and support bracket (both sides).
7. Remove the left-hand side bumper retaining nut.
8. Remove the right-hand side bumper retaining nut.
9. Remove the bumper.

Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Hit a deer. Front and right side of bumper


bumper is an easy fix, but I would worry more about those airbags.
they can be quite costly to replace.

How do i access the fuel pump shut-off switch in a 1994 Ford E150 van?


The 'inertia' switch should be located in one of 2 places. 1.) Under the dash on the drivers side, up behind the brake pedal, maybe off to left or right a little bit, 2) possibly under dash on passengers side. Was the vehicle hit or did it hit something to activate the inertia switch?? Because this switch is a safety in case of a crash with a 15-20 mph impact.

Front Bumper (434230)

Removal
1. Remove the radiator grille.
2. Remove the left-hand front wheel.

Front bumper cover is broken, no lights along bottom.


Under the bumper cover is a fiberglass bumper. It could be broken or your bumper mounts could be bent on that side. It is best to remove the screws (on the side of the wheel well) and 10mm bolts holding the bumper cover, and locate the two frontal bolts in each bracket. There are also some plastic push pin nuts in various spots too. Don't try to get the push pins under the headlights, they will come with when the bumper is removed.
