Could be over fuelling or you do a lot of short trips not allowing the engine to get up to operating temp before turning the engine off. another thing is this can be caused by not having your oil changed at regular intervals.

Nissan maxima 2000. Oil dipstick level shows too high. Regular oil changes done and filter with proper amount added. White smoke alerted me to recheck things. Only thing I found was dipstick shows oil

If the oil level goes up, something has to be leaking into the engine oil pan.
That would either be gasoline from the injectors or coolant from the radiator. If you are not adding coolant, it could be a leaking injector.

Hi. car is overheting, no heat in the car, and coolant resevoir smells like gas. 1996 nissan maxima, 3.0 dohc.

Do a compression check on the engine. Also have the radiator and the rest of the cooling system checked out by a radiator shop. Don't let it get hot.

Why does my car smell like gas

If you're smelling gas through your vents, you surely have a gas leak in your engine compartment. It could be as simple as a leaky fuel line to something more complicated as a leaking fuel injector seal. Have it looked at ASAP or you may run the risk of having an engine compartment fire, destroying the car.

Car has gas smell when heater is on

my question is do you smell gas when outside the vehicle? chances are it is pulling "fresh air" from outside the vehicle and might be pulling vapors due to thew fact you have a gas leak under the hood. check your engine while running and if a gas leak is seen. turn it off imediately and repair it. do not drive it until then. happy holidays

Can't start 1990 nissan maxima. it's like it's not getting gas although I can smell gas

Thats because your engine is flushed with gas and not enough air from cranking the engine so much. If you smell gas, then the car is getting gas. Gas is not your problem. It might be your starter or check your ignition system such as spark plug, etc.....
