My car is overheating. I check the oil for coolant or water to see if it's the head gasket. I believe it's the thermostat. my question is what's the difference between the $10 & $30? how difficult is to...

the diffr,. is QUALITY. in price, there is no low end limits to junk,,,,,!!!!
I use "STANT" brand, and price is not an issue, (life is)
so many questions, why not read the manual, and not ask others
to type this all out.
alldata.com log in and read. /??????
or a real FSM> buy one. ?
1: drain coolant.
2: follow top rad hose to the STAT housing. (below throttle body)
3: remove housing.
4, and stat, put in new, with wax side to water jackets and bleed jiggle pin UP HILL. in your case UP .
5: new gasket, and reverse above.

that works on 99% of all cars, the gaining access part varies
by car engine, and body type.

did you google for this, with engine size,
or youtube it? i guess not.

What is cost to replace valve cover gasket on 2002 dodge neon?

To replace the valve cover gasket shouldn't be that expensive. Although those cars are known for blown head gaskets, so I would have them look carefully at the back of the engine for an oil leak. If it is leaking oil out of the head, it is only a matter of time before the head gasket will be pushing anti-freeze. Please rate my answer so I get points for it.

Just ad oil change and now having oil leaks. If i need to have gaskets changed what is the standard price. 2003 Land Rover Discovery 109k miles.

Check the teflon gasket on oil plug and make sure filter is not leaking, take back to where you had oil changed if possible, a sudden leak is usually a cheap fix. Price can vary alot on your gaskets, depending on how hard it is to get to and wich ones need replaced if any, really with that many miles you should still be ok up to 150,000. Good Luck!

1998 Toyota Corolla LE appears to be overheatingf - how can i fix this?

A few things to check before you know why it is overheating. First, coolant? Got it? Or are you running plain water? Check for oil floating on the top of the radiator. Check for steam coming out the exhaust, Check for water in the oil by checking the oil level. If it is overfull. Lastly, if you have any of these symptoms, get a radiator shop to do a compression check, you might have a bad head gasket, they will tell you exactly what piston it is. And they can give you a price on repair. Usually $1200. We found it cheaper to replace the engine that to fix the gaskets. Hope this helps.

What could be the reason for over heating? give me some parts i should look at

Possible reasons of over heating include, low water, thermostat, no thermostat installed, radiator stopped up inside with gunk or outside with bugs, broken or missing radiator shroud, missing lower air dam, fan not running if electric or fan not running because of oil filled fan clutch, intake gasket or gaskets stopped up, blown head gasket, cracked head, cracked block. I put these in order of simple to hard and mostly low price to high price. Hope this helps.
