The AC Light flashing can be caused by numerous things, some of which can be very difficult to answer without proper testing. The first thing you need to ask yourself is, "Is the A/C working?" i.e. Is the actual compressor switching on and off. If you hear a clicking sound when you first initialize the A/C that means the clutch is engaging. If you hear a second click, that would be the clutch disengaging for what most likely would be a system shutdown. My first step would be to check the hoses for any signs of obvious leaks, and then check the pressure. Make sure that you check the pressure after the clutch has engaged, and that you have the Max A/C setting enable with full fan.

Depending on the mileage of your car and the usage, it may be something as simple as a recharge. The 09 Galant uses R-134a. If you find that your pressure is dropping continuously, you should take your vehicle in for a thorough A/C analysis, as these are not situations that the average home mechanic can handle easily without the proper equipment. The A/C unit will need to be tested for major leaks, and will most likely need to be discharged and recharged professionally

2009 galant, added coolant.. still blowing hot air

Hi, there are several reasons your vehicle may be blowing hot air through the vents, such as a need to recharge refrigerant. There could also be a problem with the air conditioner's compressor. Vents will blow hot air if the compressor does not activate when the A/C is turned on. There may be an obstruction in the system, or the blend air door inside the HVAC unit may be stuck in the HEAT position so no air goes through the A/C evaporator.

Air conditioner blows hot air. will not accept coolant

Sounds like a bad compressor. If you have manifold gauges and the necessary tools (like a vacuum pump, Refridgerant, etc.) you can draw down the system and re-charge. But first I would take a high and low side reading to see if all is well with that compressor.

Air conditioner not blowing cold air. We put coolant with gauge reading 25 lbs pressure. We think the compressor is coming on. The pipe coming out of the compressor is cool but, the air coming into the car...

Is the air actually blowing into the car?But it's just hot?It sounds like your blower motor is not turning to blow have a fuse, check the switch that controls the blower, and the blower motor it self.

1999 323i air con is freezing then becomes hot and humid

sounds like there is not enough r134 coolant in the system and when your slowing down the compressor stops turning. Have someone add some coolant and you should be ok.

Air conditioner blows hot air,

As long as the belt is turning the compressor than the only other thing would be that the refrigerant (R-134) is not full. You can buy re-charging kits at any local auto parts store, although they recommend that you have a licensed dealer remove the old refrigerant so it dosn't go into the atmosphere. Good luck.

Air conditioner blows hot air, checked coolant and it is full

There are a few different possibilities for a vehicle doing this. A low refridgerant level can, or a temp control on the dash is not operating properly.
