98 Pontiac gtp skips 3rd gear to overdrive at 40 mph. It also dies and speedometer goes crazy starts right back up every time.Is it an electrical problem?

Try disconnecting the torque converter. If it is the torque converter this will keep it from skipping but you won't have overdrive

92 subaru legacy L car keeps dying

That can be a difficult problem to solve. It sounds as though you definitely have something in your car that is draining power. This can be caused by a device not turning off (like a radio) or if you have an electrical short somewhere. Virtually anything in your vehicle that runs through a fuse will draw current if there is a short. Not all shorts will blow a fuse. Has it been raining where you live and is this the first winter you have had this vehicle? The older your vehicle is the more likely you have accumulated moisture somewhere. Does the interior dome light still work? If it doesn't then one of your door light limit switches could be shorted (I have had this happen to me). You can continue to try the fuse removal trick as it usually will help you locate the problem. But instead of removing only one fuse, remove say 2 or 3 overnight and check your vehicle in the morning. Be sure to remember what fuse you took out of where. If your car starts in the morning then your problem is one of those 2 or 3 systems. The next night you could remove only one of those two or three and then repeat the cycle. This is a way of isolating the problem. SOME repair shops can do this for you. The best shops have tools where they put a meter on your electrical system and watch the current flow from your battery as they remove fuses one at a time. This helps them isolate the problem. I am sorry there is no quick answer to your problem. Electrical problems are sometimes the worse to isolate. I had a Lincoln that had a short in the ride leveling system that took me days to find. I hope my answer helps! Good luck.

I have a 1993 gmc suburban 1500 in it dont start up at all dont make no nose when u turn the use to act crazy like run great all day intel u turn it off then it wont start back up intel later u will...

Leave the starter alone, If you turn the key and it does not make noise then you are going to need a ignition switch, electrical part, the ignition switch the electrical part it is located on the steering colum under the dash. look under the dash along the steering column now turn the key as you cycle it do you see a rod moving? where that rod connects to is the" electrical ignition switch part" here I made a drawingcansmo_3.png

My 1989 nissan maxima won't start. Have had the cylinoid, and starter checked, battery is ok too. It makes a sound like the car is already started but it isn't.

Do you mean when you turn on the ignition, not cranking yet, theres a sound from the engine? Thats the case, the RADiATOR FAN starts up even the engine is not yet running? Check the relay it maybe stuck up and needs to be replace! Check the TEMPERATURE FAN switch, located on the radiator! Tell me more, if what I said is the one bothering you. Taah!

My 96 ford explorer wont start

Check that the small wire going onto the starter solenoid has a good contact. Next time it doesn't start, test this wire for power while the key is on Start. If it has power when you test it then, I'd suspect dodgy starter solenoid.

Insdie lights flash on and off,car skips, sometimes it wont start

Bad earth circuit, check that the battery is grounded, and any other ground connections. ( ground = chassis/body of car) Asmost of the electrics are "switched" on the + side and the indicators are switched on the - side then the grounding is "forced" through the indicator circuit, giving you on/off electrics, check all connections and clean any rust, re connect and cover with vasaline to protect.

Thermo fan on radiator wont turn off

It wont hurt anything if they stay on all the time cus the fan will mostly runs off your alternator. But if does bother you then it meant be the sensor on the fan. Or you can install a switch to turn the fun off and on with a toggle switch. But its up to you. But for the most part as long as the fan keeps going to cool off your radiator you should be ok. But i am thinking it maybe the sensor not telling the fan to shut off and turn on when its suppose to.

For windows, try to clean the relay from the engine compartiment, may be is an imperfect contact. About the interior fan is normaly, at volvo s60, because it has a sensor, and the fan start to clean your ventilation sistem. It runs only 7 minutes, than it's stops. you don't have to wory. Sorry for, my english, but i'm from Romania. I hope you understand
