Could be the accelerator or the wires going to it. Check for corrosion at the wires plug first.

thanks randy. would it still go on flat land? it just is really being hestitate going up my dirive way hill. i just had new batteries put in and they said they said that those carts just don't go that fast. i know that is not true because when we bought it, it ran really well

They basically told you this because they don't won't work on it. arts aren't my specialty, But they are a basic 36/48 DC Volt system. The hesitating you get is from wiring, Most likely. They replaced the batteries, but probably didn't check the wires/leads going to the pedal and motor. Corrosion is the problem. Wires that aren't bolted on. Just wiggle them to get a better connections. Ones that are bolted or held with a nut, Loosen the bolt or nut and tighten them back down. This should get rid of the hesitating.

Hesitating is from not having enough amperage to the circuit. Goes back to corrosion.

EZGO golf cart won't go forward

Your batteries have died. The reason it will barely move in reverse is that current is being supplied to the motor is a direction that it spends very little time using. There is a slight change in the armature over time, and reverse tends to work better over time. Check the voltage when under load. (run jumper wires from the + and - of the battery bank. If it is a 36 volt cart and the voltage drops to below 36 volts, you do not have enoug current to run the cart. Plug in the charger and watch the ampmeter. If it goes up to about 20 amps, then it is charging. It should take a good charge after 10 hours. If the cart charges and only runs a short distance, the batteries need replacing.

Do i need to mix the gas in my 1988 ezgo

Most people do not trust the old oil pump used on the 3PG models, me included. Mix 50:1 and you can be sure that the piston and crank will not seize up.
