Buy a new oil pan or get 1 from a junk yard.

YES if you look around you'll find a drain plug repair kit ,its a common problem but there's hope ,a universal fit repair kit ,and with a little knowhow most can do it in about an hour after you fully drain oil ,my question is why the people who did the damage are not paying for all the repairs ? if that's not an option then go with repair kit. hope this helped you ,good luck.

I am buying a 1998 Toyota Prado today and I have been told by two mechanics two different stories regarding an oil leak, how can I check and diagnose the oil leak myself?

Only thing you can do is look for it. If its on the top or sidesof the engine it shouldnt be to hard to tell where its coming from. Most likely valve cover gaskets. If its on the bottom of the engine its most likely the oil pan gasket. Some vehicles when doing an oil change because of the oil filter location, oil will drip for awhile and make it look like it has a leak when it really doesnt. I would check teh valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket and make sure your oil filter and plug are tight.

Chrysler new yorker only low oil pressure

if you are full of oil, this could be as easy as an oil pressure sending unit, which you may see near the oil filter.

It could be an oil pump going bad, and you will be looking at a mechanic shop at that point.

I would check the connection of the oil pressure sending unit to make sure it's plugged in properly.

People have told me the pressure quit working after an oil change, and I found that in most cases, whoever changed the oil damaged that sensor.

I have a 1995 bmw 525i need to locate drain plug do change oil i believe im confussing it with transmission plug i was told by a ase mechanic that this model has a closed transmission system

Look at the engine, find the drive belt and find the big pully at the lower center of the engine, now underneath follow from the pulley and look for the closest pan and pan bolt to it. Thats the oil pan.

I hv a Honda accord 94. It was running great but yesterday it start creating problem. Wen I try to push gas pedal it start missing n rpm needle goes upto 5000. I thought it could be coz of spark plugs so...

Looks like some engine oil goes into the cylinder and contaminate your spark plug, thus making your plugs miss.
Look where that oil damp spark plug located at cylinder number, in that cylinder the valve seal is to be replace immediately. Valve seal is located on top of the engine that seals the intake/exhaust valve and valve guide, from oil going in the cylinder.
You could ask your mechanic to do the job, it is a bit hard to replace it. the parts needed coat just under $5.

Hey Peter,
You are correct, the cracking of the oil gallery in the block is an ongoing issue and to be honest, there is no easy fix..
However, this could also be due to faulty or incorrectly adjusted oil pressure regulator (which is inside the sump) or a worn oil pump, or worn engine to have a mechanic check the actual oil pressure for you. He will remove the pressure switch and fit a pressure gauge so that the actual pressure can be checked.
If this shows low oil pressure then all you can do is pull the engine down and have the block pressure checked to locate the point of the leak. You can also check the oil pump and the vanes inside for wear..
Having the block welded will only result in the crack appearing next to the weld.
Sorry but it is a design fault with these engines..

1997 Toyota Tercel. When cranked last week was told my car was smoking via exhaust. I went and got oil change. Now 6 days later driving home and Engine Light Blinking and Car Shaking. Car stutters/hesitant...

whos advising you ?? a trained mechanic or the local bar room lawyer ,call a local mechanic and get them to have a look without my head under bonnet its hard to say but it could be a plug oiled up or a coil pack who knows unless you sprititual and beleave that only the divine one who knows all ,but a good mechanic will soon sort it out for you

definitely.normally you plug a mechanical guage in to check oil pressure,then renew the oil pressure sender unit.should fix it.

How to change alternator for dodge caravan 1996

if you have a 3.3 engine then that job looks almost impossible ... same for the rear spark plugs .. i gave up and took it to a dealer ... i asked the mechanic how in the world he managed without taking the engine apart .. he said "i took the engine apart (with a big smirk)" ... he wouldnt tell me what but it looks like you have to take off the intake manafold ... maybe even the rear valve cover (to get at spark plugs) ... thats a wonderful engine .. nice machine, lasts forever .. but the human engineering is awful .. i noticed that the new caravans have corrected that .. they have lots of room to get at things .. also the smaller engines give you more room .. it cost me over $300 just to have the back 3 spark plugs changed .. another time an alternator was loose in the middle of nowhere ... a mechanic welded and bent several wrenches together to make a goldburg type tool to get at that hidden nut at the bottom of the alternator .. dodge could have made that much easier (possible) if they had made those "captive or welded" nuts .. as it is, the nuts are loose and impossible to control without "taking the engine apart" if you do manage to get them loose (without dissembling the engine), you cant remove them completely since you cant get anything to hold the hidden nut .. and you wont even be able to retighten without that bent and welded special tool .. i noticed that the front bearing on the alternator is what fails more often than other things .. so after the first 75,000 miles .. i put a drop of syn oil on that at every oil change .. that seems to extend the life considerably .. be careful to clean any oil that gets on the belt .. also check the spring loaded belt tensioner ... make sure it still moves on its pivot .. they often freeze at the pivot and that can cause damage to the alternator bearing ...
