It is either the ignition module or the coil. Both do the same thing. Coils are the worse.

perhaps you need a new cap and roter a new spark plug wire set. they don;t like moisture. also check to see if you have any broken or leaking vacuum hoses. the worse case senerio would be that your head gasket is leaking--at cold temps a little antifreeze will enter until everything warms up and it seals shut due to metal expanding. but since you say it's cold weather only--this probably wou;dn't be the case. good luck.

SOURCE: 1993 Ford Explorer bogging down

This is not a bogging down problem if the engine is reving up it sounds like you have a very badley slipping tourk converter or you have a band in your tranny slipping and that is why you can go for a little while longer if you shut it off

1997 chevy blazer not starting when cold

If it starts and run with a little fuel down the throttle body than the very first thing I would do is check fuel pressure. It needs to be more than 56 psi and better yet closer to 60 psi in order for the poppet injectors to fire. If fuel pressure is one pound less than minimum the car will not start. The reason why it runs after it is started is the poppet injectors are now under vacuum which helps the poppet injectors overcome the lack of fuel pressure and they work. Posting a phone number and or calling you is against site policy. I will be more than happy to walk you through all the possibilities Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using!

I have a 1993 chevy blazer that starts and runs but after it warms up it shuts off and won't start again. I have replaced the ignition module and the fuel filter. Anyone have any ideas?

Does the truck have coil packs on it, if so they may be going bad. I had a lumina that gave me the same problem as your truck. It ran fine until it got hot and then it just shut down until it cooled off enough to start again. Turned out that the coil pack was going bad. I think there is a way to test them with an ohm meter, but i'm not sure what exactly it is. A quick search on Google should reveal the procedure. I hope this helps.

Won't stay running

sounds like fuel delivery, sometimes check valve in fuel pump will quit working and fuel will drain back into tank, or pin hole in one of fuel lines, check fuel pressure
