Leaking valve cover gasket, most likely (assuming you are saying leaking on the exhaust manifold).

Why can I smell burning oil after engine running for a short time.it seems to get worse when engine gets warmer

Oil is leaking on hot exhaust manifold under hood. It may be valve cover gaskets or another oil leak. Just check it out!

Car smells like burning oil when heat is on and we have come to a stop. Once we get moving again it goes away. What could this be?

While not my area of expertise, I would check and see if you have a small leak that is getting on the manifold, this could cause the smell when you are not at speed and getting the smell when you stop.

Smells like burn after you turn the car off when it has ben on for like 30minuts or longer lincoln ls v6 3.ol 2002

Inspect the manifold gasket. You may have a small leak and the oil is burning off on the manifold. On short trips, the leak may not be evident, therefore no oil is being leaked onto the manifold.

I stopped for fuel yesterday and minutes after driving I could smell oil/gas? I stopped and put oil in sae5-30 and minutes later I could still smell oil??? Today I drove to work (20 miles) and didn't smell...

If you had to add oil, more then likely there an oil leak could be a gasket or oil seal, where ever the leak is at it's falling on the exhaust manifold and burning the oil, that's what you smell. Have it check cause low oil will damage you engine.

My car smells like something is burning all gages read ok

Check to see if there is something that is dripping or resting on the manifold assembly under the hood. If oil leaked in the exhaust manifold it would burn off and smell for a little bit.

Burnt Oil Smell

Check carefully around the valve covers, this is the area that leaks most frequently occur, and being located next to the exhaust manifold can easily cause the burning smell. There is a very easy to replace gasket under the cover. Other possibilities, shop or you when changed or added oil spilled a bit and that has worked down to the exhaust manifold and is causing the burnt oil smell. Last possibility is that you do have a slow leak on the underside of the engine that is blowing back onto the exhaust system causing the smell.

Smell oil burning when fan kicks on whats this?

If your smelling burning oil I would say your valve cover gaskets are leaking most likely down on to the exhaust manifold and when the fan kicks on it is blowing it back and into the car . So I would look for oil on the engine most of the time it is leaking valve covers and some times spilled oil .
