DID YOU USE AN EVACUATION PUMP TO PUT A VACUUM ON THE SYSTEM AND OBSERVE WHETHER IT HELD THE VACUUM OVER TIME? THIS IS A LEAK CHECK. DID YOU USE GUAGES TO ADD THE CORRECT CHARGE VOLUME? WERE THE READINGS DIVERSE ONE HI READING AND ONE LOW READING? IS THE SUCTION LINE GETTING COLD UNDER THE HOOD? THE LARGE AC LINE THAT ENTERS THE CAR AT THE FIREWALL IS THE SUCTION LINE. DOES THE COMPRESSOR CLUTCH ENGAGE?

SOURCE: AC problem

is the compressor turning on? when you turn thwe a/c? on,
and also locate the low side line on engine compartment and feel if is cold, if it is, then your blend door system is not working,
the blend door does control the cold and hot air coming to engine.

SOURCE: AC is not blowing cold air. How do I add freon?

What you will be looking for (in your engine compartment) looks almost like a large valve stem that you would see on a tire. It will probably have some kind of plastic cap on it.

It shouldn't be that difficult to find. You may want to search for an engine compartment diagram for your make/model/year vehicle.

SOURCE: 97 Olds Aurora AC blowing warm air a day after recharging system

Several- The system should hold freon for years without leaking. There are pressure switches and they cut off the compressor with an undercharge and an overcharge. You need guages to measure the charge. There are testers the A/C shops have called "sniffers" which can detect a leak. If you have no leak then you need a technician to add or remove freon to get the concentration right. Or you need guages.

What are the symptoms of a bad ac expansion valve

Condensers rarely clog. What it could be is that when it was recharged, air got into the system and may have to be bled out and fill the rest of the way with freon.

2005 altima blowing hot air

could be your switch, or you have a freon leak and there is no freon in the system. open hood and watch the ac pump and have them turn on and off the ac. if in engages then it is probably freon. if it doesn't check ac fuses.

The air blows hot

Probably have a leak in the ac system. Recharge it with a can of freon and if it doesn't blow cold again for long then you've got a leak somewhere

Ac blows cold air for about 15 minutes then starts blowing warm air then starts blowing cold air again freon is full

Freon is not full. If it goes back and fourth it is pumping then reaching a low pressure on the low side below 35 psi. Pressure while car is off should be pegged. Check at idle should be around 50 psi and 35 psi at 2000 rpms.

Good luck. If problem persists evac system replace dryer and recharge.

How do i put freon in my 2000 nissan xterra

RECHARGING AC SYSTEM

  1. Turn the car on and turn AC on HIGH
  2. Locate the low side AC line (will have a valve and cap similar to the cap on a tire)
  3. Insert the oil or R-134A can to the hose (Do not turn the screw to puncture the can yet)
  4. Insert the other end of the refill hose to the low side valve
  5. Puncture the R-134A can with the screw on the refill hose
  6. You should feel the system suction the refrigerant out of the can
  7. Check for frost on the AC lines and the air blowing inside the car
  8. If frost develops and the air is cold, you've successfully recharged the system and disconnect the refill hose. DO NOT ADD MORE REFRIGERANT...overcharging the system will damage your compressor and will be less effective
Hopefully this answers your question and you're able to get your AC working again. Best of luck.

AC not blowing cold air

Most likely the A/C system needs to be recharged with freon.
Most shops charge under $50 for this service.
