Check the wires that lead form the the do to the door jamb where the hinges are. Could be broken under the covering or disconnected.

I drive a 2000 audi quattro A6. my driver side door will not unlock from the key remote or with the key. when i try to unlock with the key it rolls all my windows down and unlock all other doors exept...

sounds like the hard wire attached to the key lock may be off or broken..this happens a lot when a car is "slim jimmed" or used a coat hanger to unlock the door.. or it could be from just normal wear.. the door panel will have to come off the door to be able to look inside and see what is happening.. simple, inexpensive fix for someone with a little mechanical ability

Check wire harness between driver door and body for broken wires.Wire harness bends , when door opens and closes so it may brake the wire or two inside harness.

Hazard lights have come on but not flicking..Can't turn them off and now can't unlock car when pressing unlock button on keyring. Right rear door is locked and unable to open even from inside

try reseting alarm system.
with key in drivers door, unlock/ hold key over for 30 secs then lock/hold key over for 30 secs then press unlock button on remote
the system is now reset.if windows go up/down you have comfort settings on your computer.nice.....
if rear door still locked you will need to strip it down to find fault.then reset again...

Audi A6 Anti Theft Central Locking Tantrums

Sounds like you are having problems with your built-in alarm system. Like most systems in your Audi, you can read the error codes stored in the controllers. It takes a tool normally only a dealer has (VW or Audi) or an adapter like the VAG Com. (Google it)

I also think you can disable the alarm system and just use the key.

Could the lock button on your remote be stuck? Use a different key/remote. (leaving the suspect key at home.) The keys/remotes can be taken apart....

Program a remote key for 03 A6

I have an A4 and did this to re-program my key:

1. used the key to start the car...then turned it off
2. put the key in the driver door (door closed)
3. pressed the lock button on the key fob once
4. turned the key to lock the door.

This is basically the steps in the owners manual, but the car must be started with the key first, and the key must be in the door lock before pressing the lock button.

Locked door

I've had a similar problem with the drivers door locking up twice, wouldn't open from the inside or with the key/remote. Audi needed to replace it I'm afraid thats the only option once it has ceased. Could try releasing the mechanism and cleaning it down but replacement was the only option for mine!

Passenger door not opening with central locking

1st wind the glass down and turn the key in the driver door twice in clockwise direction to lock, at the sound of the second click try try opening the door thru the window (passenger) manually. you will need to pull the knob twice before it opens. you can get all the passenger doors open this way until you decide to change central lock system. To activate the remote; insert the key into driver door while pressing the lock or unlock button on the remote for at least five-ten seconds which should get it functioning normally again. hope this helps. it worked on mine.
