I have recently experienced this same problem. I know this may sound funny, but you could try pulling on the outside door handle (of the passenger) side while it's open. Often times doing this will help the "gadgets" inside your door to reset and it will open/close just fine after that. I would definitely suggest this before taking your car in to be looked at.

when you pull on the handle inside does it feel like the linkage is still attached or does it feel losose. sounds like the like the lock actuator. .
