Replace remote battery. Hook up battery and reset alarm using remote. It sounds like the remote is not working.

As i understand your quest you cant open the doors? Can you open the back trunk? If so you can disassamble the back seat wall and enter this way to the car. Post back.

Yes the key needs to be reprogramed to the car. Unfortunately that will have to be done by the dealer. Make sure that you have plenty of proof that you are the owner. They will reprogram it but you will not take posession of the car until you prove it is yours.

SOURCE: 2004 xtype jaguar key fob suddenly stopped working

Your key fob needs reprogramming, and yes the alarm will go off when you open the door, but you have enough time to put the key in the ignition which will prevent the alarm sounding. Car is usable until you get the fob sorted by locking and unlocking using the key.

SOURCE: my jaguar x-type 04, remote lock does not work,

Hi,

I have a similar problem in my x type. Although if I press unlock button on the key first and then use the metalic key to unlock it dissables the alarm.

Also according to the manual if you unlock by the metalic key the car starts a beeping sound its I think 15-20 second timer within which you should put the key and start the ignition (don't need to start the engin) this will dissarm the alarm if not the alarm will go off in 15-20 second.

Hope this information is of any use, am trying to get hold of Jaguar dealers to fix this issue. If you come accross any solution please do let me know too

SOURCE: Jaguar XK8 Remote Locking problem

check your lock relays located in the interior fuse panel. Sometimes the actual connections to the fuse block can come lose and the relays wont work properly. My 2000 silverado did the same thing till i bent the pins on the relay for a tighter fit.
hope this helps

SOURCE: car won't start, turn the key and nothing happens.

hi, try disconecting the battery for a couple of hours and try again but make sure you have your stereo code. if this does not work your key fob may be out cync with your ecu and will require reprograming it is easy on x type , you can do it your self ,you can find the instructions in jag forums or ebay for 1.99

I have a 2011 Jaguar XJ and when I try to start it from the push button it won't start the only way I can start it is to jack the car up and bump it from the starter and it's not the key fob

you need to get your battery tested, it may be old and need replacing.
if not, then there may be some electronics that are fitted onto your vehicle that is draining the battery over time. A good sign/test for this NOT being the case, would be to take a drive of around 15-20 minutes in length(this is to allow the battery to be charged by your alternator), then switch off your vehicle, wait 10 seconds, and attempt to start your vehicle up again. IF it starts without you needing to jump start it, then the odds of something draining your battery is high..
things fitted after purchase, e.g; an alarm system, a xenon light kit, a different radio, OR even your little factory-fitted boot/door open light, has the potential to drain your battery significantly over time.

Why won't my car start? no lights interior/exterior.

It seems that the battery is incapable of holding a charge. You might try disconnecting the battery cables and try charging the battery again over night. Reconnect and see if anything works - if nothing works - it's time for a new battery.

My 95 xj6 would not start in cold weather. Towed to jaguar dealer and they diagnosed it as a battery problem. Changed battery started for three weeks. It is cold again motor turns over but does not start.

your suppression module is dead and need to changed. It blocks the alternator from charging the battery, so basically you are running on battery power...dmakia@gmail.com for more

Fault code V01774 on a 1999 Jaguar xj8L

Hi Darrin

Try disconnecting the battery + & - terminals.

Turn the ignition key several times to erase the computers memory.

Reconect the battery + terminal then - and start the car.

Your fault code, will hopefully not return.

Good Luck !
