How many pounds is 18 gallons

How many pounds are in a gallon?
A gallon is a measure of volume equal to 128 fluid ounces (fl oz). One fluid ounce of water weighs one ounce (oz). So a gallon of water weighs 128 oz, or 8 pounds.
A gallon of other liquids will vary in weight depending on the density of the liquid.

My ac system says it takes 2.63 pounds of r12 Freon. How many 12 oz or 14 oz cans will it take?

42.08 ounces (16 Oz in 1 lb) best to use appropriate gauges as overcharging will damage the system.

What is the R134A capacity on a 2003 Toyota Camry with a 4 cylinder engine? A repair shop billed me for 4 pounds.

It should be on a sticker under the hood

I will guess,maybe 24 oz ,less than 2 lbs

The most I have every seen since 1967
doing it, was 36 oz (2.25 lbs) back in the
1980's,since 1993 & the use of R134, the
systems have gotten smaller

How many pounds of r134 and how much oil ozs.

somewhere around 1.6 pounds (1lb.14ounces) of R134a if system is evacuated and 3 ounces of oil with new compressor.
keep pressure on the low side around 34-37psi & it should blow snow. Below are normal car AC pressure readings with 134A.
  • Normal readings on high and low side with AC OFF (static pressure) – Depends on outside temperature, but normally is between 80-105 PSI
  • Normal low side reading with AC on high speed and MAX & engine at 800-1000 RPM’s – Ranges from 25-35 PSI –
  • Normal high side reading ranges from 200-350 PSI
Don’t assume that if adding little Freon is good that adding a lot is better! Overcharging just a little can decrease the performance of the system and possibly damage the compressor.
DIY recharge kit:
With the AC on the coldest setting, use a thermometer in a middle vent. Normal vent temperature readings will vary depending on the (ambient) outside temp. The vent temperature should range from around 42-55 degrees in my experience. If normal gauge readings are obtained and the vent air is cold – STOP don’t overcharge the system.
Thank you for using fixya and be safe.

How many grams of r134a will it take as it has no plate with the info

Usually it will take 2 or 3 cans of 134a to charge a typical American car's or light truck's a/c system.

There are about 454 grams per lb. of matter and each can is about 12 oz. (not 16 oz. = 1 lb.).

3 cans would be 3 cans x 12 oz. = 36 oz. or about 2 lbs. 4 oz.

If you round down to 2 lbs., then the grams is about 454+454 which is about 900 grams rounded down.

You could find the grams per ounce and multiply by 36.

454 /16 = 28.375

and 28.375*36=1021 grams for 3 12 oz. cans of refrigerant.
