Sorry but would a need play with my voltmeter to have any idea ,also it will depend on the year of the vehicle to have some idea as too what electronic components it has fitted .I repair all makes of vehicles but here in spain we do have rangers as used by the electric company but i havent seen one iam afraid ,common fault could be a crank sensor which is breaking down when its hot but i would need to check everything with the meter to find the fault.

You have to determine whether the no start is ignition or fuel related. I would suspect ignition. Possible ignition control module getting hot causing problem. Quite common on older non fuel injected vehicles if this is what you have. If fuel injected, it could be a crank sensor of fuel punp issue as well

SOURCE: HEATER DOES NOT STAY HOT IT STARTS THEN IT GOES COLD

Check radiator fluid level. The heater core sets higher than the engine. If fluid gets low, air bubbles will go to the highest point. The heater core. Check temperature guage. Is engine warming up to normal range? If not change the thermostat. Also check radiator cooling fans with engine warm.
On my car if I set the heater control on anything other than "vent" both cooling fans come on and the engine will not warm up. (still haven't figured that one out) I just run the heater in "vent"

If heater warms up when engine is held at high idle(2000rpms) then cools down at idle, you most likely have air traped in the system.

SOURCE: 2005 ford ranger fuel pump relay gets hot and engine dies

Like Laurie Mack said. It is the inertia switch below the glove box. Here is some funny information. DON'T change the fuel pump first. Interesting fact: I bought the new inertia switch from Ford and the install instructions that came with it said to install the switch in the protected area to the right where the fuses are. It is like Ford knows it was a dumb place to put the inertia switch, but they won't let you know until after you buy a new one. I have read at least 20 other people on here that had the same problem I just had.

My 302 Ford is catburated and is in my ranger, it starts awesome cold but when it gets hot it turns over and tries to start hard but it won't start. What is the problem?

Check your plug wires at the plug for spark. Most likely loosing spark. Could come from distributor, cap, rotor, plug wires or coil. If you no spare at the wires, see if it has spark from the coil. Please report back and we will go from there.

05 ford ranger 3.0......if I put my thermostat on cold...the vent blows hot air..on max ac..its cold air..makes no sense right....help

Cold air like, really cold or just cool. Sounds like your hot/cold blend door motor has perhaps failed with the blend door in the semi hot position. Blend door motor failure is very common on the Ford truck HVAC systems. Is is located behind the glovebox on top of the HVAC housing assembly.

87 ford ranger wont start without starting fluid

It sounds like you aren't getting fuel out of the cold start injector... remove the injector when engine is cold and switch on ignition... you should get a fine spray pattern for a few seconds... if not then there is probably a problem with the cold start circuit (Temp sensor fault), or the injector is faulty. pull electrical connectors one at a time and look for corrosion... Hope this helps...;-)
