That is not normal. When is the last time you had the transmission serviced? Also Mercedes have a problem with the plug in the transmission. Every one we service gets the new plug.

This is normal. You are supposed to let the car warm up before you start it when it gets below freezing. That way you can give all your fluids a chance to get moving. Your thermostat could also become frozen and if you drive off with out letting it warm up long enough then it will not unfreeze in time to let water cool down the engine. Which in turn causes the engine to go. But basically the sounds you are hearing are caused by components not getting the proper fluids quick enough.

Testimonial: "Thanks but I let it warm up I little but it is the same the car seems to be in the wrong gear to quick then when I've driven about 2 miles everything is fine"

Car is very jerky

What kind of car? Without much detail it's really hard to diagnose this. Make, Model, Year, and a description of when it's jerky would help (braking, accelerating, coasting, etc.) Are there any other symptoms/sounds related to the jerkyness? Could be anything from a bad spark plug to a bad transmission to a out of balance tire.

I have a 1989 Nissan Bluebird SSS SR18 (Di) model KEU12NA1 Type E-EU12. I recently topped up the reservoir with an over the counter steering fluid which is transparent in color and not eh same color as...

all power steering fluid is the same actually us can use transmission fluid if u want
now being as you had to add fluid i would assume u have a leak some where in the system
you may be low on fluid also there probably air in system (when u have a leak it also allows air into system especially when you run low on fluid)
also if anyone ever put stop leak in system stop leak is a lot thicker oil and will take longer to heat up and thin out in cold weather to allow easy turning
first check for leaks repair if needed
if no leaks are found drain system add fresh power steering fluid
if that doesn't fix problem you have a bad power steering pump replace pump

Jerky accelerating, late response to gas being pressed

Well for one, make sure you speed up slowly, dont HIT the accelerator. It may also be problems with your fuel filter. After you are stoped fuel stops running through the fuel pump/filter and then when you start going its starts to run through again and it cant keep up so it gets bubbles in it and doesnt move throught the filter easily hence the jerky accelerating. Good Luck

Camry Idles high for a bit at start-up, and now accelerates in a jerky way

you need to replace the coolant temperature sensor. It tells the computer that your car needs a high idle. As far as your running, you got some water displaced in your system. Change out the fuel filter, and pour a can of "Seafoam" in the tank. It will take a few miles, but that should fix your problem.

Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0 litre petrol. Starts from cold (stood overnight). Twelve minute drive to work - slowing down at lights etc engine stalls constantly. No problem re-starting. Pull into a layby...

Same problem for me. The car would idle at about 2500 when started from cold and about 3 miles on would not idle at all, resulting in the revs dropping off when changing gear or stopping. Also rather jerky in top gear unless thrashed - numerous trips to the garage for air idle valve, injectors etc. but still a problem! Have just found out that GVs are a bit prone to carbon build up in the throttle body - mine was almost blocked - it now feels like a different car.

Cold engine

This is a classic fuel distribution distributor issue, clean the throttle plate, you may also have to adjust the fuel trim.
