SOURCE: Boot lid will not open except by use of key

Removed lock solenoid actuator and tested off vehicle, cleaned up terminals and pulled some fuses and relays cleaning wherever I thought necessary, also cleaned locking rod at filler cap with maintenance spray and lubricated mechanism inside boot underneath filler area. Both items now working but still not sure what the cause was.Suspect dirty terminals but these were not readily apparent

SOURCE: 2002 BMW 325 - key locked in trunk

There are several suggestions out there on how to retrieve BMW keys from the trunk. Many of the ways I tried failed, and it takes 2 to 3 days to get a new key made up. In the coupe there is the center piece in the back seat that folds down. Then on the back wall there is material that will fold down that is held up with Velcro. Behind that you will find a rubber insulation that is mostly cut and looks like a door, but not all the way. Carefully cut the rubber to remove the piece. Now you will find a metal wall, but there is a large piece that is tack welded on. I got turned around and kicked it with the bottom of my foot and got 3 sides loose. Then a softball bat knocked the final side loose. Pull that out and trash it, the final barrier is the insulation that is held in place with plastic clips that can just be pushed down. After that you can a pretty large hole to work through and get the keys. Just put everything back in place other than the metal plate and you will never know anything was done.

SOURCE: Petrol Fuel Cap door won't open

I had the same problem. Pressing the fuel door unlock button did not work, and I couldn't find any emergency release in the cargo/trunk area. Eventually, I clicked the Lock / Unlock button on the key fob a couple of times and tried again, this time holding the fuel door release button for 1-2 seconds, and it worked. I then sprayed some door lock lubricant into the fuel door lock in case there was something sticking in the mechanism. Don't know if this truly "fixed" the problem, but it's working now.

Boot switch will no open it remoute will not open it and the boot button will not open it. unable to open roof to try gain access that way 2000 clk230 cheers

Hi

I am assuming this is a mercedes car not van as you have not stated what model or year??

If you look on your remote keyfob there is a shiny silver metal part, most owners do not know this but if you pull that it will slide out of the key remote, this is an override key in case the doors and boot will not open, if you look on the boot lock below the mercedes badge there is a small hole for this key, that will open it.

what model what year?

Dan

Mercedes are very secure cars and the downside is that you really need the keys. Very awkward that the loss has happened so close to Christmas but if you can be patient it will be best to wait until you receive the keys from Germany.

That depends on the engine and the fuel used. My W124 4 door 2 liter petrol engine  running on Regular CO95 does 7 liter/100km on road and 12l/100km it a very congested city.
