Most likely an emission related issue. O2 sensor, egr or evap problem. You shouldn't experience any drivability issues as the code is a soft one and doesn't keep the light on. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have it checked regardless for piece of mind.

This should show up on the "check engine" routine. See if Autozone or someplace can scan it free for you. Sometimes and intermittent problem is stored without generating a "check engine" light until there are enough failures to diagnose the problem.

Sometimes the Torque converter stays locked up and this can stall an engine but you should see a trouble code light. One thing you could try is to use a water spray from a pump bottle and spray your brake booster while the engine runs. If it stalls the engine, have the brake booster checked. The vacuum could be leaking.

Another site is "aboutautomobile.com" that you can check what other people report after you enter your specific vehicle.

Saturn Vue 07 brake system warning light stays on and chimes intermittently--EB in off position

Check the warning sensor adjustment as the eb system may be worn enough to set it off if the adjustment is too close.

Check engine light comes on and only stays on for a few seconds, havent noticed anything different when it happens... ???

You can get free scans at Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys. Sometimes a better scanner is needed at a Dealer because the cheaper scanners need a "check engine" light to be on steady to get a reading.
The better Dealer scanners can access "Intermittent defects" logged in your onboard computer. It all depends on the design of the onboard computer as some will accumulate the Intermittent defects and may set a steady "Check" code after a number of defects are registered. Other designs may just ignore or lose the intermittent info.

Engine light came on, drove it around for a week and haven't notice any problem, still the light doesn't turn off

The check engine light is on to tell the driver the computer has found a problem that affects performance and emissions or fuel economy.
The computer would need to be scanned for trouble codes, the problem fixed, then the codes cleared to make the light go off.

Engine quits oil light comes on,starts again no problem, runs about two weeks and does this again

Intermittent problems are the worst. My recommendation would be to visit a dealer and have them check for fault codes. There may codes in the memory that haven't yet triggered a check engine light. There are lots of possible causes for this condition, like a faulty or dirty throttle body. It would be a good idea to check your air filter element and make sure it isn't dirty, but unless it's badly caked with dirt I don't think that would cause it.

Have a check engine Light and the shop says it is gas cap..reset check engine and all was well for about three weeks and back on again. Checked the gas cap and when you tighten the cap it continues to spin...

There is a rubber gasket on your gas cap, normally that is the problem. If it doesn't seal tight enough the tank isn't pressurized and that sets the error codes. You can either replace the gas cap or replace the seal or add another rubber gasket.

On my Lincoln, I was getting that code quite a bit, even after replacing the gas cap, so I added another rubber gasket and haven't had that code again.

A Warning light on my kia rio appears occasionally.Shaped like an engine block and says CHECK.I don,t have a manual & I live in Spain..Thanks, Tom Rooney

Tom - that is your check engine light. Seems odd that is is intermittent when coming on. Usually they stay continually lit until checked/problem repaired and the code removed from your computer by a qualified service technician. Regardless, you need to get your car in for service.

1998 VOLVO S70 INTERMITTENT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, GOES OFF COMES ON NO EMISSION CODES

intermittent engine codes are not serious and it just indicates that one or more of the sensors is reporting a bad signal..at what ever time intervals.....this just means that as you drive , bad connections develops as a result of the movement for a second or long enough for the computer to detect a fault and then it goes back to normal....you can check for bad connections yourself by wiggling the wires with engine running and see if the light comes on ..which will tell you where the bad connection is and then fix it yourself or just wait until the connection gets really bad and the engine light stays on permanently .the computer will then store the code thats causing the fault and you'll know exactly where it's coming from.

Electrical problems

sounds like the brake light switch is the culprit for both the intermittent brake lights and cruise control problems. the engine warning light could be an unrelated issue that needs to be diagnosed.
