if I'm not mistaken your car's accelerator is still driven by cable. the only two parts related to his problem are the throtle position sensor and the mass air flow sensor, another unusual suspect would be mass air pressure. I'm I'm wrong on this set up I would still take a good look at the mass air flow sensor. when the car gets scanned the tech should be able to pinpoint the problem unless you just took the car to the wrong place. unfortunately we look for dealer to help but more often than not they rather sell u a new car . also these two parts seldom need released together. Find an independent shop with a good scanner tool.

Yes it is likely the throttle unit which is in part an electronic device.this happened on my ford maverick and then the engine light would come on.that then activates limp mode...this stops the engine revs going above 2000 rpm in order to protect engine in case of mechanical issues.i simply pumped the throttle unit hard several times with the engine off then started the truck no more engine light problems no mire limp mode...which made me think that due to the car not being driven much recently cause de some issues with the internal electrics of the throttle unit.after two years never repeated limp mode until I stored it away over winter.

You have a problem with your brakes Or crouse control switch.
The crouse control and the brakes work hand in hand .If you had the crouse on and a brick wall came out of no ware the brake switch is supposed shut it off . This is a big safety issue .
Think what is happening the computer dosn;t know what speed the vehicle should be running at .
Tell that to the dealer.

The throttle motor is part of the throttle body. I'm glad you got it fixed.

Flash computer 2010 chevy equinox Abs, traction control, ck engine lights all come on. Vehicle goes into "safe" mode Drives at about 5 mph until I turn off & restart after 5 mins

Probably caused by the electronic throttle control . How many miles on the vehicle ? The gas pedal has position sensors that the PCM - engine computer uses to know how much to open the throttle plate .
Drive by Wire Function and diagnostics by Wells
What engine ?
The throttle actuator control (TAC) system is used to improve emissions, fuel economy, and driveability. The TAC system eliminates the mechanical link between the accelerator pedal and the throttle plate. The TAC system eliminates the need for a cruise control module and idle air control motor. The following is a list of TAC system components:
• The accelerator pedal assembly includes the following components:
- The accelerator pedal
- The accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor 1
- The APP sensor 2
• The throttle body assembly includes the following components:
- The throttle position (TP) sensor 1
- The TP sensor 2
- The throttle actuator motor
- The throttle plate
• The engine control module (ECM)

2007 Yukon XL - P01121 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance.

P1121 GMC - Throttle Position Sensor Circuit Intermittent High Voltage
This codes has nothing to do with APP - accelerator pedal position sensor . This has to do with the throttle body - TPS throttle position sensor . These have know problems ,the sensor an broken wire at throttle body , an when this happens the cruise control wont work . The throttle works by a DC motor controlled by the PCM - engine computer .

It will not accelerate. I push on the gas and it won't go. I changed the oil a week ago and about a year ago i changed the fuel pump

Well an oil change is probably not the cause.
What IS it doing? You're telling me what it isn't doing...
Does the motor rev up?

What causes the "Reduced Engine Power", "Service Stability Control" and "Traction Control" warning lights to come on?

the "Reduced Engine Power", problem causes the PCM to disable "Service Stability Control" and "Traction Control" turning on the warning lights to come on for those systems . The reduced engine power is because of a problem with the electronic throttle control system or as GM calls it TAC system . Reduced Engine Power Mode
When the PCM detects a condition with the TAC system, the PCM may enter a reduced engine power mode. Reduced engine power may cause one or more of the following conditions:
• Acceleration limiting--The PCM will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control, however, the vehicle acceleration is limited.
• Limited throttle mode--The PCM will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control, however, the maximum throttle opening is limited.
• Throttle default mode--The PCM will turn OFF the throttle actuator motor and the throttle will return to the spring loaded default position.
• Forced idle mode--The PCM will perform the following actions:
- Limit engine speed to idle by positioning the TP, or by controlling the fuel and spark if the throttle is turned OFF.
- Ignore the accelerator pedal input.
• Engine shutdown mode--The PCM will disable fuel and de-energize the throttle actuator.

Cable on top of engine broke on throttle what does it do

Replace the cable with one from your local auto parts store or dealer.
It may be for cruise control if your cruise control no longer works.
Or, it may be for the accelerator pedal.

No revs when depressing the accelerator

check the gas cable at the throttle body under the hood, it is possible the cable has either broken or become dis connected. remove the air cleaner and look into throttle body and find the rotating shaft that opens and closes the plate inside throttle body. 1) when you rotate does plate move? 2) is there cable attached to pulley? 3) when someone steps on pedal does the plate move? 1 not likely issue, 2 might be issue reattach cable to pulley, 3 pedal does not move pulley cable disconnected at pedal reconnect there or cable is broken replace cable. if non of these then throttle position sensor may be bad and check or replace

"Sticky" accelerator

no, that's not likely the throttle body. start by looking at the throttle body though, if there are cables going to it that control it, follow the cables back, one should go to the firewall, and one should go to a little black box. that box is you're cruise control unit. chances are that is what's causing the problem (try a salvage yard, they're cheaper than a dealer). however if there is an electric motor controlling the throttle, you should take the car to a shop to have it fixed.
