What does the electrical on carberator do and where does it hook.to

There are two common reasons for an electrical supply to a carb. One is for an electric heater to warm the automatic choke and the other is to an anti-dieseling or anti-run-on solenoid. The first is selof-explanatory and the second is a device to cut the fuel or air to the idle passages when the ignition is switched off. The electric heater could be controlled by the ignition too or it could be controlled by a relay operated from the alternator ignition light.

There is a variety of other possible reasons there is a supply to the carb from extreme cold weather adaptions to emission control measures and a few things in between.

Choke dont work

if too rich adjust choke leaner
if too lean, adjust choke righer.

from 1920 to about 1988 , usa, 70 years we did this.
no more. well we do, but most dont now.
i still have 1 twin carb motor cycle and one single carb VW 1968.
both restored.
also the chock heater must work and the choke spring not old.
the old bi-metal spring that is old become lazy,/crazy. kick it to the curb for best experiences.
if water heated choke the water actually must flow here.
if not, it will fail.
there are 3 common types.
electric, needs 12v.
water, needs 180F hot water actual flow.
and exhaust choke stove heater. (a small horror this, dont ask)
there are others, but would need carb name and p/n

Is the heater under the carb nessasery on the 2.8L

The carb base heater is to ensure the carb does not ice up during cold weather driving. It also helps with emission control by heating up inlet air. You can bypass the heater as it is not essential to engine running but may lead to increased emissions and poor cold weather running.

CARB????
THE HEATER HOSES USE ORINGS TO SEAL IF IT HAS SWOLLEN UP OR THE PLASTIC LOCKING TABS HAVE FAILED YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEAT THE HOSE IN THE CONECTION.

Antifreeze seems to be leaking from my heater

You need to pressure test the system, and observe for leaks at that time, if a hose or valve CAREFULLY CUT hoses form the heater core, it will be fragile and any flexing typically breakes the core..

Need diagram for 1983 camaro vacuum hoses with the emissions stuff taken off has a 305 4bbl

Injected or carb? If all emissions stuff is removed are you replacing it or just making stuff work? If usst making everything work, you need a hose from carb to vacuum advance on dist (if you have one) You can try putting the line above the throttle plate or below it and see which best suits your needs.. There is a large hose that goes to the brake power booster from the back of the carb (if power brakes, Another line goes to the vacuum system under the dash (makes heater controls operate) That line can go to a fitting on the manifold or any other full time vacuum connection on the carb base. All other connections can be blocked off.
