There is NO manual reset for this truck.
Have a shop or dealer with a "micropod" tool scan the truck and it will tell you why the light is still on.

If this is a crashed truck, the module needs to be cleared and re-calibrated using a set of weights in the passenger seat, and using the micropod.

The SRS system self tests every time you turn the key on. This means you still have a problem. A shop with a good scan tool should be able to pull the fault code from the system which will indicate what the issue is. If it has been in an accident and there are no fault codes the control module for the system will need to be sent out and repaired.

Passenger seat belt warning stays on even with ignition off

Possible seatbelt latch problem. There are sensors in the latch part of the assembly that inform the restraint module as to what is happening. Sometimes foreign objects get stuck in the latch assemblies ( Children ) and can affect operation. Scanning the airbag module for codes will let you know what part of the restraint system is causing these lights to be on. As long as the airbag light remains on, the airbags will not deploy in the event of an accident

How do I get the SRS light on my 1997 Acura rl to go off

You have a module that's going bad or is bad. Someone had either wrecked the car previously and didn't replace all damages modules. You can have a shop put on computer to tell you exactly which one needs replaced. There is one on the front of the vehicle one under drivers seat and one in with the seat belts those ate just sensors the actual modules are the site bags themselves

How to Reset airbag light

  • Most likely you replaced the clock spring and air bag module right? Well when the srs deploys you also have seatbelt pre-tensioners that are part of the whole retractor assembly and cannot be repaired. Ie either side retractors are not working right , then you need to replace according to chrysler corp.

Air bag dash light stays on

Hi there

Not normal at all. Could be a connection problem at the air bag pre tensioners, the part where your seat belt clips in to when you wearing the seat belt, or could be the hooter ring contact that is not good or the airbag/s has been activated then airbag computer and seatbelt stalks that activated has to be replaced.

Hope this sheds some light.

Phillip

2001 pontiac grand am air bag module reset

Yes!!! You can replace it yourself.(Dont let others fool you into paying extra or telling you otherwise.)
-This is for pontiac grand ams 1999-2005 only.
-There are no frontal airbag impact sensors nor are there belt tensioners.
-The SRS system consists of only the (driver airbag) ,(passanger airbag),and the (airbag control module) in 1999-2005 grand ams.

If you crash/wrecked and airbags deployed you will need.
-Driver and Passanger airbags
-Airbag control module

You can buy cheap airbags from a local junkyard any year from 1999-2005 will fit.
You can also find an airbag control module for cheap at your local junk yard BUT YOU MUST FIND ONE WITH THE SAME (PART NO.) AND (SERV NO.) AS THE ONE YOUR REPLACING.The (part no.) and (serv no.) should be at top left of airbag control module. However it does (Not) have to match numbers under barcode or the numbers at the far bottom right of airbag control module.

After you get both airbags and airbag module
-Disconnect car Battery
-Replace airbags
-Replace airbag module (under passanger seat)
-Double check all connections and connect battery.

Congradulations!Your airbags should be back online.

Notes: Two torx 35 head screws hold the driver airbag, access is through two holes behind steering column.
To remove passanger airbag you have to remove glovebox it uses (7mm)screws.After you remove you will see a pair of (10mm)screws holding airbag.
To remove airbag control module First remove passanger seat 2(15mm).Then after removing you will notice a raises area kinda like a vertical bump.Take a razor blade to your carpet and cut it to explose the module underneath.
The airbag module is held by three screws depending on the year of your car it varies. Most likely 3 (10mm).

Air bag light is on. Ireplaced the bags belts and module?

Have you scanned the air bag computer for codes? There are many parts to the air bag system, simply replacing parts without knowing why the light is on would be extremely costly.

The air bag light is on. i try to reset it with

OBDII doesn't reset airbag lights or codes. It's an entirely different system. Unfortunately, fixing the original problem (seat belt buckle wire, for instance) won't turn off the light. The module needs to be reset.
