Which is the best fuel additive for gas engines. I've seen STa-bil, Star Tron, and now K100 and they all promise to be the best

I'm trying to find out which one is considered the best one, they all promise to keep water from settling in fuel but which one is the best to use, I can't find and answer.

If I use stabil and it works I'll claim it to be best because it worked. You could use star tron and work so you claim it's the best because you know it worked. Any will be fine, prices are a good indication of product. Don't buy cheapest and go towards the one in between prices and if the top price isn't that much more than the middle , go with it. I use Stabil

The best fuel additive is NOT adding, find fuel that doesn't contain ethanol, because no matter what, you would never be able to add enough stabil to get rid of all the water that ethanol creates

2000 VW BEETLE DIES WHEN COMING TO A STOP

you might have bad gas when it sits for months the gas will separate. best to do is run all the gas out of it till it stops running. have a 2 gallon or 5 gallon gas can with you and fill it up when it finally stops. the other thing you can look for is a rust ground. I had this problem with a saab 9-3 took me months to figure it out. the battery and alternator you can go to any local parts store and have them test the charging system to see if there is any problems

89 f150 will start but after choke let's idle down it dies or if you even touch the gas. It had sat up for 5 years but the first time I got it started it drove for over an hour.

The damage is already done. Gasoline breaks down within 1 year. Drain and flush the old fuel out of the gas tank(s). Try adding Chevron Techron fuel injection cleaner to the replacement gas. That may work. However, you probably need to remove all the fuel injectors [if it's a fuel injected engine] and have them sent out to be professionally [ultrasonic] cleaned and tested. Fords are notorious for fuel injector problems. Also do a fuel system pressure test, as the bad gas may have damaged the electric fuel pump [located in the fuel tank(s). For a carbureted engine, you will need to have the carburetor overhauled or replaced with a rebuilt unit. NEVER let a vehicle sit unused for more than 6 months without first treating the gasoline. I always add a fuel stabilization product like Sta-Bil to the fuel, if the engine will not be run for at least 2 months or more. Adding these products after the fuel has gone bad [is already old] will not help. Then it's to late. Below is a link for Sta-Bil. I've used this product for over 20 years. It will save a LOT of grief, when storing vehicles or gas powered lawn equipment. See

Why does it miss between 50-60mph

Gas would do it all the time.Fuel filter may be stopping the flow of gas causing a misfire. It sounds water in gas but just at High RPMs like it is vapor locking (not getting the right amount of fuel). would change the Gas filter, Air filter, (gas Treatment to remove any water like Sta-Bil ).If it goes away your lucky. But it looks like a fuel pump is getting weak.

S10 fuel injectors

Try a strong solution of Sta-bil that is a brand name sludge and varnish remover, Mix a strong mix up in the tank. Crank engine and see if it will start. If not, crank several times for about 10 seconds. Let sit overnight and try again. It seems as though your injectors are plugged. So try this. It is an awesome product.

93 jeep grand cherokee. just got it running and the engine is running really rough how do I get it to run smoother. It has fresh gas but am worried it sat too long! 8 moths or so. Also the oil pressure...

If you worried about your gas, put in a bottle of sta-bil or ISOheat. This will remove all water and condensation from the gas. I would also replace your fuel filter, spark plugs and WIRES. Check for any vacuum hose leaks, if needed do compression test to verify that your gaskets aren't leaking.

If you have service/check engine light on, have a diagnostic test done to pinpoint the bad sensor or circuit that is setting it off.

I ahve a 1989 Chevy Suburban and for the past year when the gas gauge reached 3/4 tank I filled up with gas (Regular) and I let the Suburban set up for two moths and I believe the gas went bad. I screwed...

hELLO THERE:
I would first get the fuel filter changed and see what this does
also you may have to get rid of this tank of fuel if the ratio is too bad from the sta bil
you may also want to change the plugs and have the injection system cleaned if this applies if not get some carb cleaner and clean it really good ok and this should get you going like it should
hope this is very helpful for you
best regards michael

gasoline will go bad! if you plan to store your vehicle use something like "STA-BIL" to prevent this. you may need to remove the gas that is in it and replace it with some that is fresher.
