Need to know where the leak detection pump pressure switch is on a 1998 dodge caravan

NOTE: The EVAP System normally does not fail during the lifetime of the Van. Any failures could normally be blamed on the cannister (which is expensive) and the hose having leaks/bad connections.
The leak detection pump is located under the vehicle on top of the engine cradle (big black brace under the engine) just below and towards the front of the driver side near the steering gear (not the pump) It is a cylindercal shape (like a soda can(okay beer) can) with larger (1/2 to 5/8 in) sized hoses attached. One hose on one side the on the cannister and other hose on the other side.

I have a dodge caravan, it idles slow when stops, it runs very well but when I stop it hesitates, the code indicates p1495

P1495 Leak detection pump solenoid circuit fault (open or short). It is located under the engine cradle near the steering rack and pinion. Check it's wiring. It detects EVAP system leaks.

My window washer fluid leaks totally out when

Generally.....3 things happen.
The washer fluid plastic bottle may be cracked....not likely.
The pump (and or gasket at the pump) may be leaking ......30%.
The rubber hose pushed onto the pump to direct the washer fluid up to the window may have popped off........70% ......most likely.

Dodge 1997 caravan using water

If you don't see a definate leak from any of the hoses, it is probably the water pump. I have a manual for 1996-2002 vans of this model as I have a plymouth Voyager. They are the same mechanically. If you have the 3.0L V6 and it is the water pump, you are in for a expensive fix as the water pump is located behind the timing belt cover. The pump ia actually ran by the timing belt. I just recently fixed the same issue on my van and it was tough. A Mechanic will charge you for six hours of labor plus parts. I was loosing water just like you are, but once the pump got really bad i could finally see where the leak was coming from.

Check Engine Light code on dodge caravan ec P1495

the leak detection pump pressurizes the evaporative system to check for leaks. the computer has detected there is a fault somewhere in the cicuit (wiring) that operates the pump.
