Sounds like blower motor fan for heat, the motor itself can be going bad or something is hitting fan blade inside heater box, I have seen all different things in heater boxes including acorns , leaves and general debris causing noises when fan for heater runs, you need to take it apart and check for anything that might be hitting fan if not motor is going bad and needs replacement, good luck.

It sounds like your rotors are warped. Do you feel a pulsation in the brake pedal as it's happening? I really haven't seen ball joints or links go out on those cars.

this doe's sound like a c v joint problem, normally, they will make a popping, or clicking sound, but you do need to get this checked out before something serious happens . meaning the possibilty of losing a c v axle, or damage to the transaxle.

Loud noise in front left tire 2004 Ford Taurus SES

You mentioned the noise was from the left (drivers side) front. The compressor is on the passenger side in association with the engine compartment. Question, once the noise starts does it continue while stopped or only while moving?
