Question about 2006 Volkswagen Jetta

I have a 06 Jetta 2.5l and it has no spark. I replaced the crank sensor and plugs and still nothing. What's wrong?

Try checking the coil output for spark.

Justed change a coil on a 2006 suzuki forenza and it still has no spark


so engine rand perfectly before draining oil and refilling
and did you remove filter?
what test did you do to check spark , guess, or use a test spark plug and do all spark (x4) are they all dead.
did you remove those coil pack high voltage wires. oops that is timing, to the spark plugs, and must not be scrambled.
no spark real,
  1. fuses blown. check fuses.
  2. Key on CEL lamp in cluster must glow or PCM is dead, (fuses)
  3. crank with scan tool bingo scan tool tells you why no spark if cranked for 5 seconds, all EFI cars do that. 1989 to today.
  4. bad coil pack
  5. dead ignitor that drives coil pack (sadly inside ECU in 06)
  6. dead CMP sensor , scans prove it or CKP sensor. both.
that be it, all of it.
those are all tests. not guessing, nor dismantling car like last OP thinks. listed in order of easy , and cheap.

Lancer timing


-Try one more time. When pull out the plug, make sure ground it.
If there is spark shown. It could be the rotor point to the wrong cylinder plug wire.

was it doing this before you changed them? something is wrong with your firing, recheck firing order. could be a component you swapped in is faulty. if it was doing this before you changed them check crank sensor and lambda sensor

You have three choices. First, check the spark and coil system to ensure you are getting a spark. Pull off a plug wire from the coil pack and crank. Have someone watch to see sparks snapping off the coil pack. If you don't have any replace the control module under the coil packs.

Second, you may not be getting enough fuel pressure. Put a gauge on the fuel pressure test port. You may have a bad oil pressure sensor, located down above the oil filter. Check that oil pressure sender and make sure the connector is pushed in. The power to the fuel pump runs through the oil sender. If the engine starts and oil pressure doesn't come up quickly, the computer will shut off the fuel pump. Check this and you can also manually engage the fuel pump from the relay block down by the passenger feet.

Third choice, and it's a long shot, check the harmonic balancer and the crank position sensor. If the sensor is bad, the computer has no idea when to fire the spark plugs. A magnet is on the harmonic balancer and flys by a sensor to induce a voltage in the coil and tell the computer what position the crank is in.

You also may have a bad computer.

You can figure it out.

May have no spark due to a bad crank sensor, which is responsible for spark when it gets a pulse through the cars' computer.

Won't start


Check the crank sensor... easiest way to test will be to remove a plug wire from the spark plug and place close to metal on the motor ... have some 1 turn the car over while you watch the end of the wire .... you will be looking for sparks to arc to the motor ... if nothing then you will need to replace the crank sensor. if this information helps please rate it ... if that is not the problem please let me know and we will figure it out together

96 vw jetta 2.0l will turn over but will not start


I had a problem like this on a 1997 VW Jetta 2.0L. I suggest you obtain a multimeter, a gas pressure gauge, and a used injector from a junk yard. You need to find if the car has spark if it is getting gas and if the injector is firing. Plug a used spark plug into say # 4 spark plug wire and ground end against the manifold or other ground. Have someone crank the engine and see if there is spark. If there is spark then disconnect the electrical connector and plug in the used injector and hold in your hand. Have someone crank the engine and if it clicks as the engine revolves the injector is firing. Now if you have spark and an injector that clicks then put the pressure gauge in the upper line going to the injector manifold. Use a T so that the fuel can still flow into the manifold. If these three things check out. You need to also verify the engine is timed correctly and the timing belt did not slip a few teeth. I had a problem with my crankshaft sensor. I bought a new one and although I was getting about a .3 volt ac signal, I still had no spark at spark plugs. I wound up getting another new crankshaft sensor and read 3 volts ac from the new sensor. there is sensor in distributor called hall sensor ,this generates the pulse for your spark.this is probably faulty.
