The pedal should be up when driving. There is a release lever on the left side above brake pedal to release it.

If the pedal for e-brake is on the side of the driver under dash, it has to be up towards the dash to release the e-brake. a lever in the center console has to be down for e-brake. God-Bless!

SOURCE: I have changed all 4

you may have a leak in your master cylinder or brake booster valve.
typically if its your master cylinder your brakes will stop you but the pedal will continue to drop even while stopped.

It could be due to malfunction of brake paddle switch. you have to check brake paddle switch. if brake paddle switch get choked it can be happen due to Peddle switch gives signal to ECU as a vehicle stopped.

There is either a restriction or break in the hose from the engine to the booster or booster is faulty.

You experiencing lack of brake boost assistance as you have correctly diagnosed.

Having trouble with the brakes on my '90 Ford ranger. Replaced the master cylinder and still have very little braking power. Any help would be appreciated!

***Seek out professional help this vehicle is not safe to operate.***

Check the vacuum line going to the brake booster.

This is the big round chamber behind the master cylinder.

Hope this tip helps.

My brake pedals are going to the floor, what could be the cause?

Check for brake fluid leak's at all wheel's. but more then likely it going to be your master cylinder, pump brake paddle up and hold with lots of pressure if paddle goes down bad master cylinder.Good luck.

Will take 2 people one pump brake paddle hold paddle down other person open bleeder at right rear wheel keep doing this till no more air (bubbles) come out. then go to left rear, right front, left front. thru out all this keep checking brake fluid level do not let master cylinder get empty. Good luck.

My brake pedal goes hard when braking on my santa fe

Step on brake paddle with engine off, then with foot on brake paddle start engine, brake paddle should go down a few inches, also check for vacum at power brake booster under hood ( sit in back of master cylindre ) if you have vacum there and brake paddle did not go dnow a few inches, replace brake booster.

Brake lights dont work and all back lights stay on

STOP

Do not drive the Town Car until you get the light problem figure out.

There are two possible components at fault.

Brake switch (above the brake paddle) can jam to on position.
Move the drive seat back and dive down to check on the condition of the brake switch.

Main light switch can be on its way out.

Check both and you should be on the right track/

My bet is on the foot brake switch,
