Hello, my clutch actuator arm seal is leaking and I cannot seem to find the seal or where to buy it?

Just replaced hydraulic clutch line a week ago and as I was leaving today I put it in reverse backed out and then when I went to put in in first I wouldn't go and there was a puddle of fluid that's leaking...


Sounds like the "slave Cylinder is leaking. That is the device which the hydraulic line attaches to on the side of the tranny and acts as an actuator for the clutch mechanism

Why is my clutch feel like there is air in the line it seems to have alot of play.


Air in the hydraulic clutch release System. The system consists of the clutch master cylinder, line, hose and clutch slave cylinder. Check the level at the clutch master cylinder. The fill reservoir is along the firewall on drivers side with a black cap. It uses DOT 3 brake fluid. Add fluid if low and pump pedal. If low you have a leak. If full you have a master cylinder internal seal bad so you have to have the master cylinder for the clutch replaced.

Won;t start while clutch pressed but will push start


The clutch master cylinder must have gone out, the seals in it have failed. The clutch master cylinder (next to the brake master cylinder) gives you hydraulic pressure so the clutch pedal can operate the clutch.
You can buy a new clutch master, a rebuilt unit, or yours can be rebuilt with new seals. Save time and money and buy a rebuilt or remanufactured unit. Once installed, you bleed the system down at the clutch slave cylinder, mounted on the transaxle.

The bubbling is just the air being removed by fluid, no problem. the foaming is just the pump action, no problem. As for the leakage, remove the pitman arm and replace the seal on shaft the pitman arm is bolted to. If you still have leakage, replace the seal in the top of the box where the column bolts to the box for it's just running down the box and looking like the leak is from the bottom seal.

Hi I am Vortash it sounds to me that your Thrust bearing on the clutch actuator arm is damaged , it is probably worn and not pushing evenly or that the cable is rusty and in need of repalcement ( hence the squeaking ? ) the cable may even be stretched ..some jettas in this country also had Hydraulic clutches and this would point to a leak ( damaged rubber seals or slave or master cylinder rubbers leak ) or air bubble , or low fluid level not actuating the thrust arm properly

Clutch or pressure plate bad


1. If it is maintaining a gear when you try to start it in gear = Pressure Plate is fine. Don't do this too much as it can blow the gear in the starter. Just do it momentarily to test it. If you start it in gear and the motor fails to turn you can be reassured your clutch is fine if you had no slipping issues before.
2. If pedal went down and stays down = Check fluid levels for the clutch master. This has a return spring in the master so it should return on its own even if it has sprung a leak.
3. If fluid level is up = Linkage has possibly come off or actuator has come off at the fulcrum in the bell housing.

If this has come apart at the actuator arm this may or may not be accessible with the transmission installed for inspection. Look for an exploded view of this assembly and it will give you a better idea of what is happening. If it has come lose at the actuator fulcrum arm the transmission will have to be removed to service the failed part. The actuator arm or failed master is consistent with your hard shifting issues prior to failure.

The throw out bearing arm was on the outside of the clutch actuator arm. The throw out bearing arm should go into the clutch actuator arm with a bolt going into the clutch actuator arm through the throw out bearing arm. I used some blue locktite to make sure the bolt didn't come out again. See pic below.

Tranny slips


Tranny slippage can be caused by several things (each contributes to a varying degree, if at all)

1. cold parts are smaller > > > don't seal properly
2. cold fluid is more viscous > > > don't flow properly
3. bad fluid can cause build-up > > > slow actuators & clog fluid passages
4. worn parts > > > don't seal properly

Result: low fluid pressure pressing on bands/clutches = slippage

The good news: as everything warms up, tolerances normalize, system leaks seal & fluid flows more readily creating enough pressure to keep bands/clutches from slipping excessively (normal operation)

As for the 4WD not engaging, I would be willing to bet the front differential actuator is frozen/stuck (assuming it has worked recently)

Clutch fluid is leaking inside of the car 240sx


You need to rebuild the seals in the cluth master cylinder. The seal around the pedal shaft that actuates the clutch is leaking fluid past the seal and onto the shaft connected to the pedal, inside the cabin. 
A good parts store should be able to get you a seal rebuild kit, or remove the cylinder and bring it to a clutch shop or Nissan dealer and have them rebuild it for you. This is cheaper than dropping the car off and having them do all of the work. 
Dismantling the master cylinder, replacing the seals, filling the system with fresh fluid and bleeding it should solve your problem. Be sure to replace all of the seals at one time, and don't be tempted to only replace the one that is leaking at the moment. They should all be the same age to last without further leaking. Otherwise you'll be chasing a series of problems with your clutch as the other old seals fail over time.

it sounds like your valve cover is bent, you may need to buy a new one, did you use any gasket sealer with the cork gsket? if not remove the valve cover and use gasket sealer..... Apply it driectly to the cork gasket...... if you did not use sealeant this is why it is leaking.
