SOURCE: check automatic transmission fluid level

Dipstick is to the left of the engine. Should be a small yellow dipstick. Add fluid through the dipstick hole. The vehicle should be running when you do this. It is best to have driven at least 20 miles before adding trans fluid so everything has had time to get hot.

SOURCE: where to put in the automatic transmission fluid

I own a 1994 BMW 540i with an automatic transmission. The filler hole/plug is located under the transmission oil pan. Picture in your mind an inverted cone with a hex plug inside the top of the cone. You will need to remove the plug and pump fluid into the pan until it overflows. Also, this must be done with the engine running and the transmission in neutral.

Do not try this unless to you have the proper equipment to raise your car, keep it level, and have four jackstands in addition to the special fluid and pump.

SOURCE: How do I change the automatic transmission fluid

there will be a plug at the bottom of the transmission. pull the plug, let it drain, and replace the plug. Refill with the recommended amount of fluid out of the owners manual. Run the vehicle through the gears a few times with the car started. let it idle till the temp. comes up, then check the trans fluid level and add till full

I have a 1992 Nissan caravan non turbo van. It's not going thru the gears. We put transmission oil in but over filled it. Anyway the van is still not changing gears. What else could be. Thanks

It's a badly worn transmission and you can do what you like with the automatic transmission fluid but it will not solve the issues.

Unfortunately a transmission which is exhibiting these problems has terminally failed and will need to be replaced with a rebuilt unit.

2004 Nissan Armada wont grab a gear

I'm assuming automatic transmission. Check your fluid level immediately. If low(hopefully the issue) add required fluid, start vehicle and idle a minute to pump fluid back through system and try putting in gear again. If this solves the issue then you most likely have a leak some where. If fluid level is ok, you will need to see a transmission specialist.

My 1996 Nissan sentra uses 2 quarts of transmission fluid to go 20 miles what could be wrong with it

IF YOU ARE LOSING THAT MUCH FLUID THEN YOU HAVE A SEVERE LEAK, DO NOT PUT OFF HAVING IT CHECKED BECAUSE RUNNING A AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LOW ON FLUID WILL CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE PRETTY QUICKLY

Where is the transmission fluid drain plug on nissan vanette van 2004 model

If it is an automatic transmission, there will be no drain plug. The bottom of the transmission housing has to be removed to drain the fluid and service the transmission.
