You should list your year, make, and model. Look on the harmonic balancer.

You really need to know the make, model, and year of your car to look this up. However, has some good ideas in general: "

  • 1 Open the hood of the vehicle.
  • 2 Locate the crankshaft pulley on the front of the engine. The crankshaft pulley is usually the largest pulley at the bottom of the engine, depending on the year, make and model vehicle.
  • 3 Look for a sensor that is directly behind the pulley. The sensor has an electrical wiring harness plug on it. The number of wires on the connector depends on the year, make and model of the vehicle. The type of pickup also depends on the year, make and model of the vehicle.

Where can I find the crank sensor on a 2009 Nissan Titan v8 truck?

i think it's the starter. On most nissans, the starter and the crank position sensor are close to each other. Some nissans have 4 position sensors, between crank sensor, crank angle sensor, cam position sensor, and sensor sensing sensor, oh and cam angle sensor. Oh wait, maybe it's a bad ground. Nope, gotta be the staerter.

    Jeep wrangelr Crank Position Sensor

wall5552: there were two engines used in 1992 Jeep Wranglers.
A 2.5 liter and a 4.0 liter. HOWEVER>>>> The location for the crank angle sensor is the same for both.
It is located on the bell housing up near the front at about the 10:00 PM position.
The Cam position sensor is located in the Distributor on both engines as well.

My engine shuts off while im driving

Check ecm for number 1228253. If it has this one in it you will have a cutting off problem. Gm replaced these with #16198264 The cam sensor magnet on the cam gear will deteriorate and give problems. This will require removal of the timing cover.

    Camshaft position sensor location

crank sensor is a component used in an internal combustion engine to monitor the position or rotational speed of the crankshaft. This information is used by engine management systems to control ignition system timing and other engine parameters. Before electronic crank sensors were available, the distributor would have to be manually adjusted to a timing mark on the engine.

The crank sensor can be used in combination with a similar camshaft position sensor to monitor the relationship between the pistons and valves in the engine, which is particularly important in engines with variable valve timing. It is also commonly the primary source for the measurement of engine speed in revolutions per minute.

Crank sensors in engines are usually comprised of magnets and an inductive coil. They are principally based on the Hall effect. Common mounting locations include the main crank pulley, the flywheel, or occasionally on the crankshaft itself.

Some engines, such as GM's Premium V family utilise crank position sensors which read a reluctor ring integral to the Harmonic Balancer. This is a much more accurate method of determining the position of the crankshaft, and allows the computer to determine within a few degrees the exact position of the crankshaft (and thereby all connected components) at any given time.
