SOURCE: '96 Regal Purge Canister Valve?

ADAM
THE PURGE SOLANOID IS ON THE ENGINE WITH A RED CONNECTOR ON IT. IT IS LOCATED ON THE REAR OF THE ENGINE ABOVE THE REAR VALVECOVER. YOU ARE ACTUALLY LOOKING FOR THE CANISTER VENT SOLANOID AND IT IS IN THE REAR OF THE CAR AND THEY FAIL OFTEN. GET THE PART FROM G.M. AND THEY CAN TELL YOU EXACTLY WHERE IT IS. THE G.M. PART IS UNDER $30.00.

You will need to remove the right front wheel & wheel well liner. The canister purge valve is behind the cover. It should have two tube going into the bottom and one on the side near the top.

SOURCE: 1999 hyundai accent canister purge

There is a purge solenoid for the EVAP system and it is item no.# 1 shown in the diagram below. You have to follow the purge valve vacumn hose to find the charcoal cannister if you need to inspect.

tdisline_101.jpg
I have included a description of the EVAP system for your understanding.

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CONTROL SYSTEM
The EVAP and on-board refueling vapor recovery (ORVR) system consists of a fill vent valve, fuel shut-off valve, fuel cut (roll-over) valve, fuel liquid/vapor separator, EVAP canister, EVAP canister purge solenoid valve, EVAP canister close valve, vacuum relief filler cap, and connecting lines and hoses. ORVR system is designed to prevent the release of fuel vapors during refueling. During refueling, as fuel enters the fuel tank, a vacuum is created in filler pipe, drawing air into the filler pipe and tank. Fuel vapor in fuel tank is then forced to the EVAP canister via the fill vent valve and the fuel liquid/vapor separator. A fuel tank pressure sensor is used for detecting EVAP system leaks by comparing pressures inside and outside of fuel tank.

EVAP Canister Purge Solenoid Valve
Fuel vapors are vented into the EVAP canister during refueling and when ignition is off. When engine is at normal operating temperature and engine speed is greater than idle, a thermovalve opens and allows vacuum to open the purge control valve. Canister vapors are then drawn into the intake manifold for burning during combustion. The purge control valve is kept closed during idle and engine warm-up to reduce HC and CO emissions.

SOURCE: Where is the evap purge canister valve located on

The canister purge valve is located behind the intake manifold in the engine compartment on the firewall side .It should be a small round solenoid with a wire connector attached. It will have a feed hose from the evap cannister to the purge valve and then to the intake manifold. The evap canister is located on under the vehicle on the right side of the gas tank and is held in place by a bracket. If you follow these hoses it will also get you to the canister purge valve.I hope this helped.

Where is the vapor canister purge valve located on a 96 Cadillac deville Northstar

If your purge valve/solenoid is failing, chances are you will need a new EVAP Carbon Canister as well. As the canister gets old the charcoal (carbon) starts to break down and bits gets sucked and stuck in the valve when the gases are purged from the canister on start up and acceleration. If you take the solenoid off and tap it on the ground you will probably see tiny bits of carbon fall out. This is a sure sign that you need a new canister ...Just replacing the solenoid valve won't help as it will only get clogged again by these bits of carbon. GM located most canisters in the rear wheel well under the wheel well lining. Not too sure of your model but check a Manuel. You must also blow out the line before connecting it to the new canister as bits of carbon can be still in the line and contaminate the new purge valve.

Where is the Vapor Canister Purge Valve located on a 1999 cadillac catera

My 99 Deville has purge valve right on top of engine (Northstar) just rearward of throttle body. Looks like a black almost round cylinder the size of a roll of quarters with a wire connector out the back. Easy to remove and replace, and a common part to fail and set emission code.
If you are sure it's bad, buy one and you should be able to find the old one by looking at the new part.

1989 cadillac fleetwood master cylinder has a some sort of a solenoid with a canister on top that says high pressure brake fluid. Next to the master cylinder it stoped working and i have no idea what that...

the cannister is an accumulator, it contains a high pressure nitrogen charge to keep brake system pressure, do not try to remove it before depressurizing the system

I need to know what the two connectors on the distributor cap for a 1989 cadillac fleetwood fwd sedan with a 4.5 litre v 8 really do

the power control module ( engine computer ) the ignition module, the rpm gauge if its an option on your dash gauge, ignition switch is all connected to the distributor.. In your car you will not have one for yours is a 4.5 fwd which did not have one. In fact 1985 on up were all electronic and were all distributor less. A coil pack sets onto a module which takes the place of the distributor. The camshaft and crankshaft runs off sensors that tell the computer what signal to send to the module when to have the coil add spark to the cylinders spark plug
