I checked the diesel line by removing pipe from the injector & crancked the engine , no diesel coming but tiny drop.
I checked the solenoid ,,ok
but don;t know the potentiometer fixed to the throttle & 4 pin connector what this actually do?
if this malfunction will this effect to the starting of the engine?/
On an open injector like a drop is all you will get
get a diesel specialist shop to check the pump for you as it is extremely dangerous to play with high pressure pumps
if you were to place your finger over that open injector line the pressure created is 25,000psi and that small drop of fuel is injected into your blood stream before you realize what has happened and within 3 minutes you will be dead
if you want to question that statement just as the diesel specialist

SOURCE: I have a peugeot 306 2001, 1868cc diesel engine
i had this problem on my 306, found it to be the pipes on the bottom of the e.g.r valve body had snapped off, so glued it back on and sealed it with silicone and it works fine now, you can pick a second hand one up for about 50 quid from a breakers, my problem was quite obvious but i would recommend checking for air leaks all along the system, there is also a sensor in the body and where they all meet up beside the battery could be faulty, hope this helps i do have sum pictures of the repair if needed...

SOURCE: peugeot 306 1.4 overheating problem, heater not
Hi its the head gasket, you cant see no water in the oil on these engines like you normally can on most oil caps, pull the dip stick out and look on the bottom any sign of yellow gundge will be the head gasket, sometimes it is only a very small amount.
These cars always have the same problem, if i was you I would do the head gasket and waterpump at the same time, water pumps are only about £20 and wont add much to the bill if doing them at the same time.
As there is no water coing out of the bleed niple then it must be air locked somewhere, problem is when they get like this the gasket will blow anyhow.
Hope this helps

Dan
