SOURCE: if the timing belt breaks does this shear or bend the valves on a

All Daewoo Engines are interference fit Engines. Which means that if the timing belt rips while the engine is running the pistons will hit and bend the valves and you will have to get new valves and possibly a new cylinder head. Worst case scenario you will also have to get a new engine block if for some reason chunks or pieces of valve, piston or cylinder head damaged the cylinder bore and cracked the block while things were moving around. Daewoo Timing belts are recommended to be replaced at 60,000 miles but it is best to replace them before 60k as some people have had their timing belts break on them as soon as 61,000 miles.

SOURCE: What do these diagnostic codes(PO106,PO121) mean

OBD II Fault Code

  • OBD II P0106
Fault Code Definition
The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor measures the rise and fall of the air pressure inside the Intake Manifold. This provides critical data needed for the Power Train Control Module (PCM) to control the Air Fuel Ratio, the Ignition Spark Timing, and many components of the Emissions Control Systems. The Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Sensor P0106 code is set when there is a problematic or erratic performance in the voltage signal to the PCM.
Symptoms
  • Check Engine Light will illuminate
  • In many cases, no abnormal symptoms may be noticed
  • In some cases, the engine may be hard starting and/or get poor fuel economy
  • In some cases, noticeably poor engine performance may occur
Common Problems That Trigger the P0106 Code
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor is defective
  • Intake Manifold vacuum leaks
  • Faulty or corroded Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure wiring or connections
Common Misdiagnoses
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor is replaced when the real cause is an Intake Manifold vacuum leak
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor is replaced when the real cause is a stuck-open EGR Valve
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor is replaced when the real problem is a defective Idle Air Control Motor, which causes a very low engine idle

Wha t is the valve setting for a 2000 deawoo 1.6

Hi the A16DM Lanos engine has hydraulic valve lifters , the clearances are thus automatically adjusted , make sure the lifters are bled and primed before installation , inspect the camshaft for wear as wear in this area would result in tappet noise .

Hope this helps a bit

Idont think that you will fid a download for service repair manual, I think it has something to do with copyright laws, but you can log on to advance auto parts.com, create an account with them (free of charge) , they have how to repair section on the site which covers most vehicles from 1950 to 2004 .

Why is the airbag light staying on in my 2000 deawoo lanus

There is a fault in the system. You would have to take it to a mechanic so they could hook a computer to it to find out why its on.

2000 rodeo has code #0440 which is the (evap) what should i be looking for.

Make sure everyone will fuel up your Rodeo DO NOT TOP OFF the tank.

The few ounze of gasoline can soak the charcoal canister and damage the vapor purge relay/vent.

THE FIX

Park the truck outdoor

Locate the charcoal canister and disconnect the hose.

Let it vent for 3-5 hours.

Reconnect the EVAP line.

Please rate me answer if it's useful to you.

Cheers.

I did a test on my 2000 Lanos Daewoo it showed up computer output circut and evaportion sensor. What does that mean?

That is an emmission device contolled by computer.System is comprised of a charcoal canister designed to trap fuel vapors. This canister is then purged during engine operation. One very possible item with can cause evaporative canister codes is a loose or missing fuel cap which needs to seal the fuel tank properly for proper vent and purge operation. The check valve in the cap can as well cause trouble codes.Make sure your fuel cap is the vented style if its ever been replaced. If this doesnt sound like the issues you are having, please further elaborate on the trouble code or discrcription you are giving as I'm unaware of other evaporation codes pertaining to this carline but willing to investigate for you.
