Look for a bad brake light switch or connection to it first. Many cars have interlocks to this switch to make sure brake is engaged at certain times, like starting car.

Would help if you wrote out complete English words and sentences to describe conditions in better detail.

SOURCE: 99 Sienna pwr door lock failure

Sounds electrical/relay to me if you cannot lock by pressing the lock button on the door itself. Driver and passenger acting the same AND the remote all the same result point to only one culprit.
Let me know how it goes and best of luck!

Take it to a qualified repair shop. You can not by pass the anti-theft system . Software programmed into the electronic control modules .

Switched out transmission now you turn the key and evrything goes dead

Not sure what vehicle you have but i was taught in school that the last thing worked on is the first thing checked. I suspect you may have a wire or wires pinched between the bell housing or another component. Use a thorough visual inspection.

Anti-theft? Engine lock out?

If you parked it up in June 2009, it has been dormant for 8 years. The vehicle should have been started up and brought to operating temperature at least once a month and the battery should have been connected to a trickle charger.

You need to reset the antitheft system as you did not do that. When you connected the battery, the key needed to be in the ignition but not turned on.

Disconnect the battery leads for at least 2 hours. Hold the negative and positive leads together for 5 minutes. This fully drains any residual current in the electronics. Put the key in the ignition! Connect the positive terminal. Connect the negative terminal in one swift movement. Wait 15 minutes for the chip in the key and the chip in the ignition switch to be paired to the ECM.

The only thing that concerns me is the radio, but it may also need a security code entering.

Pt wont start or turn over

try to get a jump from a friend and see what happens, does the same, faulty starter, may need replacing, try to use small hammer and tap lightly on the starter couple time and have a friend start the car while you tap lightly on it. check ignition switch where you stick the key in. stick the key in the ignition and turn the key back and forth jiggle and wiggle it and see if your igniting will make contact. do it several time to test and see if its the ignition problems, this part is not cheap to replace.

After replacing the gear shift cable on my Oldsmobile Bravada the key will not come all the way back to the lock position and the battery light stays on.

im not sure what linkage you replaced cause it is electronic. if key is stuck in acc. posision the problem is the ignition switch. the reason i say this is cause when you turn the key it elec. releases the shifter and when the switch gos bad it does not. a new ignition switch should be purchaced from a gm dealer.until fixed you will have to disconnect batt. every time until fixed and i would also use the park brake when not driving.
