Many times when you try and enter the default 'password', you have tried a few times to get into it, however it may have locked itself for too many times. Either remove the batter connections for a couple of minutes or unplug the radio power (best) if you know where it is. I suggest radio power, because you know it has nothing to keep it powered up in some kind of sleep mode. It needs to be totally powered off for a few seconds (maybe a few minutes in some cases). Then enter the password (usually just a few numbers) and see if it will let you in. It might be a good way to try anyway..

I had a vehicle that had an internal battery to the radio, so you had to not only remove power but remove the battery to clear it's ability to enter the 'password'..

I need to unlock my 2004 Honda civic rodio code

There is no default code, try the following.

1. Look in glove box for small sticker with numbers, should be 5 digits with numbers no greater then 6.
2. Pull out the ashtray and see if the sticker is on the back of there.(older models that have them)
3. Pull radio from dash and write down radio serial number and call local dealer with that number and they will be able to get the code for you. They will ask verifying questions.
4. If you happen to have all the books from the dealer look in the 'HONDA SERVICE HISTORY' book, NOT the owners manual. It should be on the first page in the AUDIO CODE box.

The dealer can not give you the code for the radio with your VIN unless you purchased the car from the dealer and they still have your info on file. If they charge you it's because they will do step three above.

Some say if you turn off radio and hold the 1 and 6 preset buttons then turn radio on it will give you the serial number. I hope this helps. If not, let me know so that I might be able to try again.

I HAVE 97 MITSUBISHI DIAMONTE AND FEW DAYS AGO I DIDN'T CLOSE PASSAGER SIDE DOOR ALL THE WAY AND NEXT MORNING I FOUND OUT MY BATTER WERE DEAD. AFTER RECHARGED BATTRERY, EVERYTHINGS WORKING AS NORMAL EXCEPT...

Many radios have theft protection that require a code once power is lost. Look in the owner's manual, as it should be written down by whomever installed it.
Otherwise anyone selling that brand of radio can just reset the code to a new one, and tell you the new code.

Radio has a code on my volvo 1989, just bought it used previous owner doesnt have it

Just call your local Volvo dealer and ask for the repair shop. They'll have the number and should give it to you for free. If your local dealer won't provide, call the Volvo dealer in downtown Los Angeles, they will do it.

You'll need the car's VIN (vehicle identification number). You do not need to remove the radio.

Ihave bought a car that the radio needs a code to make the radio

There is a couple of ways to check this:

Look in your car's owners manual, most of the time the new owner has it written down in there.

Sometimes it can written right on the radio when you pull it out.

If all else fails call the dealer and they should be able to look it up.

How do i get my radio code for a 1999 honda accord

. The radio code is usually written in the owners manual in the glovebox by the selling dealer. (When it was new) If it is not in the first or last pages then you would need to go to the Honda parts department at your local Honda dealer . You must give the dealership proof of ownership for your car (title, registration>) to get the radio code. The parts person or the owners manual will walk you through the steps.
good Luck and i hope this was very helpful to you.

SOME SLIM CHANCE IF U BOUGHT THE CAR USED THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER WROTE IT IN THE OWNERS MANUEL BY THE RADIO CHAPTER OF THE BOOK OR ON THE 1ST OR LAST PAGES OF IT (LOOK FOR ABOUT 5 TO 6 NUMBERS), IF THAT DIDNT WORK THEN GO TO YOUR LOCAL FORD DEALER WITH YOUR TITLE/REG (PROOF THAT U OWN THE CAR) THEY WILL LOOK IT UP BY THE V.I.N. # OF YOUR CAR. SOMETIMES THEY WANT TO CHARGE YOU

Radio

You'll have to pull the radio out and get the serial numbers off of it. You can then call a GM dealer (since they bought out Geo) and see if they can get you the unlock code for the radio.
