Is there a light on ???
Not starting ???
Maybe not, you might need a new Engine control module if Dodge still uses the ECM mounted voltage regulator !!!

Before you replace the alternator.

A Simple Preliminary Car Starting Procedure
If your car won't start, try this procedure:

  • Check the battery cable connections:
Make sure the positive cable, makes a good connection at the battery and at the starter. Make sure the negative cable makes a good ground connection at the battery and (preferably) at the engine.
  • Check the battery the simple way, like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.
  • Check the starter and solenoid:
If the wiring looks ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection, and proper voltage at the starter(10 volts minimum while cranking).
If the starter spins and no crank, the problem is most likely the Solenoid's bendix gear is stuck.
Have someone hit (not too hard) the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging a stuck bendix gear.

Sounds like new alternator has a bad diode in it and needs to be replaced. Even if it is new it can still be bad. Have it checked at your local AutoZone or Advance auto for free.

Why is it my car not holding charge battery new alternator new run for a day or two and dies out

Faulty new alternator or wiring to battery is causing too much resistance to the battery to give it enough charge to re-charge it. Take the car to Autozone or Orielys and get them to test both the battery and alternator for free. If both pass, then it's most likely the cables from the battery/alternator need to be checked.

Alternator not charging

The starter would have nothing to do with the alternator not charging. You most likely need a new alternator and possibly a new battery. At the very least, the battery will need to be charged 100% before running with a new alternator.

The alternator is not charging the battery? I had it tested and they said there is no response from the alternator what could be wrong?

usually its the rectifier, which is cheap in comparison to a new alternator. and is located either inside or outside the back of the alternator-but u may be unlucky and need a rewind if its this its usually better to get a new/recon unit

Which alternator to get for my 94 Toyota Corolla

The connector that you are talking about is actually the voltage regulator,it can be swapped to fit your new alternator but, if it was the reason for the alternator quiting in the first place, then your new one won't work after you do it, so i suggest you return the alternator and demand the proper one from your supplier.

New alternator and battery battery light stays on and car dies

Have you checked the alternator fuse? The regulator needs power from the fuse to turn on the alternator. The old alternator could have blown the fuse.
