Generally low oil pressure is due to a failing oil pump. If you have a mechanical gauge you can pull the electric oil pressure sensor and use that gauge there to verify if the pump is bad. If pressure is low on the mechanical pump then the pump is bad. If the mechanical pump reads good pressure then its the pressure sensor that is bad.

What causes the oil check light to show while there is enough oil

Low oil pressure.
Causes
1. Warn oil pump
2. Warn engine bearings
3. Wrong grade of engine oil
Could also be a bad oil pressure sender or electrical connector.
Remove oil pressure sender and and fit a manual gauge to check the true oil pressure.

Engine fan turns itself on the moment I turn the ignition key on even when it is very cold. Also the oil gauge shows engine oil as low even when there is enough oil

The engine fan is controlled by a relay and a radiator temperature switch.
Unplug the switch at the radiator, and if the fan still runs, the relay is stuck on.
If you unplug the relay, it should stop. If not, you did not pull correct relay.

Engine oil gauge is for pressure, not level. And pressure should always drop at idle speeds. As long as it is over 40 psi when at higher speeds, then oil should be ok. Normally at idle, the pressure will drop as low as 7 psi.

Engine oil level dosn't shown when i start the bmw 318 2003, it show nothing, but if the oil is in min it show yellow light, the red light dosnlt show when i start the engine as it was before.is it normal?

I recommend having the oil pressure checked by a technician with a pressure gauge. Lets make sure the pump is creating enough pressure. If pump checks out then its theoil pressure sending unit, gauge or the circuit

My oil service light came on a few days ago than today my car stopped while i was driving it i was able to restart it but now its making a weird sound

HI, you dont say what the sound is like, Have you checked the engine oil, this car as the PD engine fitted and only use good fully synthetic oils.it could have gone into limp mode for lots of reasons, go to a reputable repair centre and get the car checked out, good luck.

It still may be the oil pump. At an idle it may not be putting out enough pressure to move the oil, but when you start driving, it turns faster and builds more pressure.

While i'm idling at a dead stop, the oil pressure drops down really low and the Computer reads "oil pressure low" "stop engine".does this sound like a oil pressure switch? it's fine while driving. (2002...

Have the oil pressure tested with an accurate mechanical gauge. often the sending unit goes bad, but without testing it could cost you an engine before you find the problem.
If the mechanical gauge shows same low readings, you have internal engine wear (likely worn crank/rod bearings) Then, it's your decision on whether to drive it till it expires, repair it or buy a new vehicle.

2004 VW Touareg, Low oil pressure stop engine now light

Sounds like and electrical problem in the oil pressure sensor circuit. I wouldn't rebuild the engine just yet. Hook up a mechanical oil pressure gauge and drive the vehicle with the gauge on it so you know exactly what the oil pressure is.
