There are 4 individual window switches in a car
use one combination at once or all 4 together
It makes no difference to the system and there is no mandatory anything about the number of windows operating at the same time.

Location of the power window relay in a 1998 cadillac eldorado

Left Front Power Window Switch
The battery voltage is applied from the WINDOWS circuit breaker through CKT 42 (RED) to the accessory time delay relay. The accessory time delay relay supplies voltage through CKT 70 (PNK) to the left front power window switch under the following conditions:
?€¢
The ignition is in the RUN position.

The retained accessory power (RAP) is active.

When an UP switch on the left front power window switch is operated, the battery voltage is applied to the power window motor. The power window motor is grounded through the DOWN contacts of the left front power window switch to G204. The motor runs in order to drive the power window up. When a DOWN switch in the left front power window switch is operated, the battery voltage is applied to the power window motor in the opposite direction. I have a 2010 Toyota Camry with a front passenger window problem. The window goes up and comes right back down sometimes when I push the button to roll the window up. The window will finally stay up...

Hello Susan..... What you are experiencing is the jam protection function: During automatic
closing operation, the window stops and opens half way if something gets caught
between the window and window frame. If the window receives a strong impact,
this function may work even if nothing is caught.

If the power window does not operate automatically or the jam protection function does not operate correctly, you should normalize the power window
To normalize the power window:
1. Push down the power window switch and lower the windows fully.
2. Pull up the switch until the windows close and hold the switch for a second. Make sure that the window open and close automatically. If the power windows cannot be operated properly, have it
checked by your dealer.

Frying power window switches

I had a similar problem in my 1993 Safari. Problem turned out NOT to be a switch, but a broken wire in the driver side door opening between the door and the frame. I found a cut in the wiring insulation, and it corroded, breaking. This disabled the window control.
