SOURCE: MAF Sensor 2004 Dodge Stratus

If your car has a MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor, it would be located in the air delivery tube that runs from the air filter box to the throttle plate assembly on the intake manifold. It will have a wiring connector going to it, also. The MAF does exactly what it is called: It "senses" the volume, or "mass" of the air-flow; thusly it needs to be in the intake air tube. If you do NOT have such a device in the air-tube, you have a MAP sensor, (Manifold Absolute Pressure); this is another way of measuring the same air volume, albeit older technology. You will commonly find this device on the firewall, with a vacuum line running to the intake manifold.

I hope that this sheds some light on your question.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for advice!

4 cyl. Auto trans. in limp mode. takin the shift solenoid out to re build it i fnd ripped wires. My question may seem should i re connect the first or cont with the shift solenoi

Unfortunately, you should have gotten the diagnostic codes for the transmission before messing with the shift solenoid. Most of those dodge shift issues are caused by input and output speed sensors.

You did not say what size engine - - I assume it is a 4 cyl sedan since the coupe uses direct ignition.
Have you changed the plugs ?
Could be a problem with the cam or crank sensor. Is the check engine light on and have you checked for trouble codes ?

Starter out in my 2002 dodge stratus where is it locat

If its a 4 cyl, its right below the computer on the driver side when you open the hood. Just behind the radiator. It attaches to the transmission bellhousing. On a V6, not sure but probably close to 4 cyl location. Not too bad to replace on a 4.

The thermostat is located at the upper radiator hose end of the engine. The hose will connect to a housing that will have to be removed in order to change the thermostat.
While you have the thermostat housing removed, make sure you flush the old coolant out and replace with new.
Good luck.

input sensor? what input sensor? the Oxygen sensor? the Power steering pressure switch? the Throttle Position Sensor? the Vehicle Speed Sensor? the park/neutral position switch, there is alot of sensors in a car, and many of them require a input from you as a driver, so a "input sensor" is not enough information to help you, i am guessing you refer to the throttle position sensor? if so it is mounted on the throttle body, the left image is 4 cyl engine and the right one is v6 engine http://yfrog.com/5itpscj
