You could have two separate issues or just one. First check the level of brake fluid. (brake light)Fill it and if the light goes out, then you have to use a CReader or scanner to get the ABS codes. Cold be wheel sensors, broken wire, or the ABS module. If you can't get the brake light to go out, then it is the ABS, three possible causes. One is the ABS module is dead. second is the pump has failed. third is a bad ground wire. check the ground first. The ground is the biggest wire going from the pump /module to the body. When these loose ground, I cut the end off and run a longer wire to a better spot on the body. When you see it, you will know why.

Sounds like a bad brake switch

  • Randy Ohler Apr 24, 2015

Brake switches don't control the ABS system. They control the brake lights and the shifter lock.

Abslight stays on. How to fix? This is a2007trailblazer?

First you need to have EBCM - electronic brake control module check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . If the light is on there is a code stored . I think most part stores can do this and for free . After you find out what code is stored , looking up that code in service repair information for diagnostic trouble shooting chart would be next step . There are a few codes too.
DTC C0035 or C0040
DTC C0045 or C0050
DTC C0110
DTC C0131
DTC C0161
DTC C0186
DTC C0196
DTC C0201
DTC C0240
DTC C0241 or P0856
DTC C0244 or P1689
DTC C0245
DTC C0283
DTC C0287
DTC C0290 or C0292
DTC C0455
DTC C0550
DTC C0558

Find the code do the diagnostic's , fix the problem , wiring issue's , a sensor , bad module ,what ever it is . The light will go out then . Here is a sample of code discription .
• DTC C0035 Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit
• DTC C0040 Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit

Have a 2002 silverado and my abs and brake light stays on and the brakes are fine, why?

The warning lights are indicating a malfunction has been detected in either the sensing or actuation portion of the ABS system. Your base brakes will function normally but in the event of an ABS controlled stop on an "icy" or "slippery" stretch of road were the ABS system would take over to prevent a skid, that automatic system will not function.
Have the vehicle scanned for trouble codes to find out which portion of the system has malfunctioned.
Good luck,
Regards,
