Most likely the fuel level sendor in the tank. It is attached to the fuel pump assembly. I would reccomend replacing the fuel pump with sender and fuel filter. Since you have to drop the tank might as well replace everything while u are there

Why fuel gauge not working gas guage on 2009 santa fe stays on empty even with a full tank of gas. Guage fluctuates from empty to 3/4 full to empty to 1/3 full at any given time.

It could be the sending unit in the tank or the gauge on the dash. A mechanic would test the signal coming from the sending unit to verify.

98 BLAZER LT, Just had a new crate motor installed. Now after installation of motor a number of things is not working. 1 gas gauge fluctuates, either reads full or empty but gas light does come on when low...

The best professional advice I can offer u is return it to installed the motor & explain whats going on. Evidently there are either bad electrical connections, vacuum lines or damages during installation. They might not take full responsibility but they will probably work with u. good luck
