My 2004 mondeo tdci turns over but wont start, what can I do?

Car was running fine until clutch went...renewed the clutch and put everything back together. when trying to start engine up after reassembly the pointers on the dials go all way round then return to normal....engine turns over but wont fire up. Having to recharge battery now to try again but not too hopeful. I would be most grateful if you could give me any help please, thankyou....steve.

Is the vehicle lurking forward or anything as you're cranking the engine?

Check the fuel cut off switch, normally inside the kick panel in the front footwell

Check to see if all the wires have been re-connected correctly to the battery etc, also check wire to fuel cut-off What you describe re dials is as if the dials are trying to re- initialise

Why is there no pulse at injectors on a 05 mondeo tdci

No pulse? Is the engine running? How are you measureing pulse? If the engine is running there is a pulse, if it's not running, there won't be a pulse. If TDCI is correct this is a turbodiesel
Compression Ignition.

Mondeo Mk3 TDCI suspected fuel contamination

indicates that the fuel was petrol and not diesel
best id to drain the tank , change the fuel filters and refill with the correct fuel
could be contaminated tank at the station but as most have a petrol and diesel hoses side by side it is easy to fill from the wrong hose

I had a starter motor fitted to my for mondeo TDCI 2002 because the engine just screeched and didn't turn over when trying to start. everything was fine until 2 months latter when the same problem started...

Probably want to pull starter out and check the gear on starter and if its chewed up then youll want to check the flywheel also. Good chance if the starter keeps getting chewed up then the flywheel is bad
