Location no doubt it gets more manifold heat than the others see if a temporary heat shield does any good

Testimonial: "You are correct on the heat, because of the intake filter mass array of plastic, it is the one cylinder (#3) that gets the least amount of air circulation. when I put the new coil in this weekend, I'll build me a heat shield deflector & try it. Toyota can't seem to figure it out & help me. So it can't hurt to try. If that works, I might even improve it more with mounting a Radiator sensor near the coil & mount a small insulated fan to increase circulation. Thanks Ray."

Testimonial: "Well all parts installed are Factory Toyota replacements, Wires New, & ck'd resistance & are @ spec, Coil is bad for # 3 cylinder & is the 3rd one in 7 months on # 3 cylinder. Everything ck's out ok, just don't know why # 3 always goes out & even Toyota can't give me an answer :( Vehicle is strong running, compression perfect & when the # 3 coil is working, it runs like factory new @ 251,000 miles on it. I'm just puzzled :("

Check the plugs and wires closely. Corrosion and a wire that is breaking under the coating cause high resistance.

Sounds like a bad coil. But a sensor like a module or an aging distributor cap and rotor are the most suspect. Take off the distributor cap and see if a white powdery substance is building up scrape it clean with a sharp knife... it may run for a few months best to replace the rotor and distributor cap

My coils keep going bad in my 2003 toyota corolla

Check your plug wires. Have you changed them recently and then began noticing a problem? If so, did you take the caps off of the plugs and then installed the plug wires over the top. This can cause the wires to arc and eventually the coil will die.

My friends 1996 4runner v6 keeps overheating and when they run the heater it blows cool air . is that a bad thermostat?

It could be, it could also be a blockage in the heater core. 4Runners are notorious for that.

1991 v6 3.0l 4runner starts when cold and when warms up stalls out

my experiences with toyota 4runners is that the ignition will do this when it is going bad. another problem that could cause this is a faulty injector that when it heats up it will short out.Hope this helps

No spark/no fuel.1995 toy. camry 2.2 5S=FE

The BONNET is the hood, You must have talked to someone from ENGLAND. The fuse may blow if the coil or the igniter is shorted. Turn the key on and disconnect the igniter and coil, then hook up each one and see when the fuse blows.

I hear the front suspension rattle when i go over pot holes or cracks in the road. At first it was just the drivers side now i can hear it on both sides. What could this be?

could be ball joints, bad shocks, loose brake calipers or a broken coil spring although the last one would also show some sagging of the suspension.

I suspect it 's balljoints.
