The TPMS (Temperature Pressure Monitoring System) sensor is located INSIDE the tire - as part of the valve stem. Replacing it requires removing the tire from the rim (or at least enough to allow accessing the sensor). There is a similar sensor for the seat belt - but I can't help you with that problem - sorry.

How do you know the sensor is good? Has it been tested? You may need to have it reprogrammed or the TPMS module that reads the sensors may be defective

One day TPMS sensor light was on on my instrument panel so I went to the repair shop so they reset it with the diagnosis machine and the sensor light was gone from the instrument panel temporarily. The...

The TMPS device in the tire attached to the wheel once introduced to the TPMS computer receiver it continuously checks air pressure and sends that info to the reciver (each whel does this) the reveiver compares the pressure data betwen the 4 wheels. If they are not the same it will put up a message to the dash TPMS icon.

So if all of your wheel sensors are sending messages and you are getting a message tire low -- they are working.
If you simply get the TMPS symbol or lettring and it is only becuase of one wheel -- replace the wheel sensor.
If all wheels are not working (each one off and on) then have technician remove the the electronic hadnshake for the car to the 4 wheels and then reintroduce the wheels to the car. If that fails then have the revieving computer check for faults and replace or replace it.
Note the wheel sensors each have a battery -- hence the batteries can go dead. Some sensors can have the battery repplaced. It is recommended that all 4 be done at the same time.

What could be the problem when the airbag light wont go off?

The seat pressure sensor. if it's the seat sensor you can find a BMW Airbag Bypass, Seat Occupancy Sensor Mat Emulator on ebay, they are cheap and it works well.

Tmps alarm stays on

Be sure all your tires have the correct air pressure including the spare! If these are all correct you probably have a bad sensor in one of the tires. You will have to pay somebody with the right computer diagnostic to figure out which one. The TPMS can be turned off, but again, only by someone with the right equipment.

How to tell which tmps is bad

TPMS, or Tire Pressure Monitering System, tends to be very touchy when it comes to the pressure of the tire. I have seen some sensors not read low until the tire was almost PSI from what it should be, and I have seen some tires read low when they were only 1 PSI low. Are you sure its bad? Although its now standard to have TPMS on all vehicles, most only use a dummy light to show that there is a pressure issue with a given tire. So that could just be the issue here, that a tire is a tad bit low on pressure. I would check that first.

If adjusting the pressure doesn't fix things, your next step would be to take it to the tire shop, as there is no way for the consumer to know which tire sensor is bad, short of seeing the sensor snapped off inside the tire.

Hope this helps!!

Audi A4 2008- warning symbol TPMS ?????? what does this mean. Also, tire pressure light won't go off. just had four new tires put on.

TMPS = Tires Monitoring Pressure System.
If you have been changed all tires of the car you must programm again all four tires TMPS sensors. This is the reason for TMPS warning symbol lightning on the dashboard.

Why does the airbag light come on?

Drive your car into a well lighted area.

Remove all item from the passenger and driver seats.
Example: seat cover

You will need a good flash light to inspect the weight and seat belt sensors connector under the seat.

With engine off and key out

Inspect the seat belt and weigh sensor connectors

Check the contacts if the connector is real dirty.

Reconnect everything and check the air bag light.

Airbag light goes off when passanger seat in use, & on when not

even with exchanging the sensor the calibration could be off. without pulling codes from the airbag system it would be hard to guess for sure but id say you need to have the dealership do a recalibration on the seat
