Dangerous situation. Do you have any tail lights? running lights?
I would guess you have a power connection somewhere before it gets to either of the switches (including brake), a main relay, or separate relays for both brake and blinkers. Possibly a fuse that looks good is not. Volt-ohm meter is good at checking those things.
