Turning the ignition of my jaguar x type 2003 does not turn engine over but the security light indicator flashes. Is there a way to reset?

It sounds like the pats security system does not recognise your key, have you tried your spare key? or you may have a problem with the key transponder module or key antennae around the ignition barrel. or one of the modules on the can network, your car really needs to go on suitable diagnostic equipment to help sort it out. hope this helps.

If the security light is flashing that means the car does not see the chip in the key.
Either the chip in the key is missing or broken.
Or
The antenna ring around the ignition lock has gone bad or been broken.

You can take the key to a locksmith and they can tell you if the chip in the keys is there and operating OK.

How do you reset oil service light Honda Pilot. From years: 2003, 2004, 2005.
  1. Turn off the engine. Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button in the instrument panel and turn the ignition switch to run (one position before starting).
  2. Hold the button for at least 10 seconds, until the indicator resets.
  3. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
How to reset oil service light Honda Pilot. From years: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012.
Resetting the Engine Oil Life Display if maintenance service is done by someone other than your dealer, reset the maintenance minder as
follows:
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.
  2. Press the select/reset knob repeatedly until the engine oil life is displayed.
  3. Press the select/reset knob for about 10 seconds. The engine oil life and the maintenance item code(s) will blink.
  4. Press the select/reset knob for another 5 seconds. The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to 100.

Reset oil life
The following procedure should work for your truck:

  1. Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
  2. Immediately after Step 1 press and release the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
  3. If the Change Oil Soon light flashes the system is resetting.
  4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

I assume that you have the equipment to read the OBD codes, as you say there is no fault, this being the case you should be able to reset the fault indicator with this equipment. Otherwise you will need to perform drive cycles to clear it (you will find these at http://www.bluejag.co.uk ) or just sit back and relax it will turn itself off in time.

Hello, my name is Ben and I can help you with this. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position. Slowly depress the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds, the "CHANGE ENGINE OIL" light will flash. Turn ignition key to "OFF" , then start the engine. This should reset the light, Ben.

How do i reset the oil light on a 03 saturn vue? i did the turn the key and press the gas peddle 3 times and that didn't work.
The procedure you used is for the 2006 > Vue, and will not work on your 2003. For the 2002-2005 Saturn Vue V4 or V6 - Under the hood you will see a black fuse box behind the battery. Open it up and you will see a red button, it is small and looks like a fuse but on the top it will say Oil-Res. Turn on the ignition & press and hold that button for about 10 seconds. You may want to have a friend sit in the driver's seat and watch for the indicator to start flashing, which indicates you've activated the reset. Turn off the ignition and that will reset the Oil light.

Security light flashing, 2003 RAM will not start or reset
i had the same exact problem...reading thru other listings of the same problem i came across one solution that worked for me.....by holding the trip odometer reset button down and holding it in while turning the ignition switch to the on position ...all lights on dash will light up and the tach and speedometer gauges will make a full sweep the back down codes come up in the window ..turn ignition switch on and off and reset something , everthing ,....anyway my truck starts again ...thanks for the solution to my problem !

Hi my 2003 honda pilot
to reset the the light , turn ignition switch to off position , press and hold the select/reset trip button , while holding the button turn ignition switch to the on position , with the engine off , continue to hold the reset button for about 10 seconds until indicator resets , your done.
you will see like 5 dashs blink then 4 then 3 then 2 then 1 then all flash . problem solved .
