Apparently it wasn't fixed exactly correctly? I would take it back, and have them check it out, it all should be under warranty, hopefully?

I don't kno the extent of damage but if a 2002 chevy malibu had the airbags deployed will it still start.. i had someone tell me once airbags are deployed the car won't start

There are computer and safety interlocks that generally prevent cars from starting after the airbags deploy. Some cars have explosive bolts that also fire to disconnect the battery and fuel pump after an airbag deployment. These are all meant to limit damage in an accident. I suggest you take the car on a flatbed truck to a dealer or mechanic.

Won't start makes a clicking sound and shows a airbag light on dash

Hi,
The airbag light will stay on 'til you replace the computer sensor and replace the air bags. But it should NOT affect the ability to drive the car.

If you replaced the wiring harness, you'll need to go back and double-check everything. If it was done by a shop, then they should fix it.

2006 toyota tacoma srs light stays on where is relay

Hi Keith,

"SRS" stands for "Supplemental Restraint System". This includes your airbags and your seatbelt pre-tensioners. The only way to find out why the light is on is to scan your airbag module and retrieve the fault codes that will be stored to let you know which part of the system is failing.

There are a few Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for the SRS in your vehicle, however none of them address any concerns with sysem failure or the light illuminating. They have to do with proper service proceedures to prevent accidental airbag deployment, disposal of deployed airbag parts, notification to the service technicians that they MUST replace an entire harness to fix wiring problems in the SRS and that wiring repairs are NOT to be made, etc..

Please also note that if the SRS light is on, the safety systems in your vehicle WILL NOT WORK in the event of an accident. It is highly recommended that you get this properly diagnosed and repaired by a trained service technician as soon as possible. Unless you have had specific training for the supplemental restraint system in your vehicle, I DO NOT recommend trying this at home.

Airbag light recently came on? 2004 hyundai tiburon

It should come on when you first start the car, then go off after a few seconds (to show that the lamp is working). If it stays on, you have a problem somewhere in the system. It could be the sensor behind the front bumper, it could be a loose wire or bad connection to the airbag itself. You need to take this to your dealer (or other trusted repair shop) and have it repaired, this is not a do-it-yourself job. If the repairs are not done correctly, it could cause the airbag to deploy when it should not (causing much damage) or not deploy when it should (adding to your injuries in a crash.) The lamp indicates that the airbag will (most likely) not deploy in a collision.

I started my 07 escalade esv in the morning about 1 weak ago and the service airbag light apeared and i was hoping it wold just go away in time but it dident i have about 120.000k in the car any cheap...

its better to go to service center and diagnostic tool will tell you which of your sensors or airbag module have the problem, i wish that no deployment happen because if deployed is commanded you will change the airbag main control module, repair acording to the dtc codes and diagnostic aid, if the problem is module such as side airbag, curtain, drivers airbag or the passenger airbag, you may connect the two wire by 2.2 ohms resistor 2watts. if you want little cost but the disadvantage is, what ever happen in your car, there is no airbag deployment even the computer will command to deploy in case of accident, my suggestion to you is not advisable but its about you

Airbag lt on

Hi!

Code 51 means: Air Bag Diagnostic Monitor Internal Thermal Fuse ä Fuse Blown Due to Intermittent Short to Ground. It means that the computer controlling the airbags sensed a short in the wiring and disabled itself by tripping an internal fuse for safety reasons so that the air bag cannot be deployed accidentally. To repair the car, the wiring problem must be fixed, and then the airbag module replaced. Look for smashed wires, wires that are rubbing against bare metal or other wiring damage affecting the airbag circuits. This wiring is all under the plastic cowl around the steering column.

Please do rate the solution as FixYa and revert for further clarification.

Thanks
Rylee

My airbags blew i need to replace them

You need to replace your "airbag diagnostic monitor", and the "airbag sensors" as well as the airbags.

Once your airbags have been deployed, the airbag sensors may be damaged and may cause deployment for no appearant reason. You must replace the airbag diagnostic monitor, because it's internal thermal fuse blows upon deployment, and will not deploy a new airbag.

If you purchase airbags, and related parts from a salvage yard, make sure the diagnostic monitor is the same model as the one in your vehicle (the model number is on top of the unit, the manufacturing date is listed last and is irrellevant), but ford does use the same unit in most vehicles of the same year.

To replace the system, disconnect your negative battery cable and wait 1 minute before doing anything. Your airbag system is designed to be able to deploy for 1 minute after a power failure, so do wait 1 minute before doing anything.

In a 1995, your airbag diagnostic monitor is located inside the vehicle, center console area, under the heater and blower control assembly. It is a silver box that has 2 wire clips connected to it, and is retained with a couple 10mm bolts. (Don't get it confused with the larger computer that is under the radio area, the monitor is behind the computer)

Your 2 sensors are located in the front of the grill area, and 1 is in the driver wheel well area. All are held in by a few bolts, and have a long wire clip attached.

The driver airbag is held in by 2 bolts that are easily accessed on the back of the steering wheel, then a couple wire clips inside the steering wheel.

The passenger airbag is held in by 4 bolts that are accessed, by removing the glove compartment, and a wire clip behind the airbag in the dash area.

Airbags blow with extreme power and can be as dangerous as helpful. If you intend on doing the work yourself, follow the instructions carefully.

Install everything in reverse, and DO NOT HOOK UP THE BATTERY UNTIL THE REPAIR IS FULLY COMPLETED!

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.
